The movers seemed to know their business, kept telling us "we got you...we got this"! We supplied a stack of moving pads as well as a stack of blankets, etc to ensure all of the large furniture and appliances were protected. They did work quickly and loaded almost everything we had to get into the truck during the 2 hours they were hired to work. They did also work consistently and were careful moving some tricky pieces out of the doors and into the truck.
However, when we arrived at our destination and began unpacking, we found several very disappointing, frustrating issues. We packed approximately 10 blankets folded up and stacked in the truck that they did not use for padding/covering. No padding was placed between the refrigerator and a heavy stack of boxes, resulting in many scrapes, black stainless finish rubbed off, and dents. We also found that an antique hope chest was loaded upside down, breaking things inside. A large wood and stone end table was turned upside down on the underside of the hope chest so it now has several scratches and one sizeable chip. We could even see the 'sawdust' on sitting on the bottom of the chest where the wood was scraped away. Other items were loaded with some padding across the front, but no cover where they were positioned against the side of the truck, resulting in more chips, dents, scrapes.

We will be filing a complaint (with pictures) and see what action they are willing to take.

Took an additional 3 hours to figure out how to move my bed frame, which I told them would be an issue from the moment they arrived. When they finally got it to my new building, they decided it wouldn't fit in the elevator and left me alone in the lobby to figure out how to get it to my 4th floor apartment, even though they had previously told me they would "stay until it was done." One mover had a pretty frustrated attitude the entire time, despite me warning him multiple times that I was worried the bed frame might be difficult and that it would be best to take it first. Also provided him with instructions to take the bed frame apart, which he refused to try and use. Leasing office of my new building was kind enough to help me after they left and took the bed frame apart and put it back together in less than an hour (without detailed instructions). Was frustrated that I was left alone to deal with something I specifically hired the movers for. Called the next day to speak to the company - company is avoiding my calls. 0/10 would NOT recommend the team I got, even though the one mover was friendly and nice. Lead team member was unhelpful and they wound up taking 5 hours to move a STUDIO apartment when it should have taken 3 hours total. Company now avoiding my calls and are no longer welcome at apartment complex.

Hello mam, genuinely sorry you are unhappy with your service, the reason it took an extra 3 hours is because you had an elevator that was very small, in addition it was pouring rain and you insisted it needed to be done so we worked around the rain to get your job done even though there was 4 other jobs to get done. We are also working in the middle of a viral pandemic and trying to help everyone we can so need to stay healthy, and you were coughing and sneezing all day we asked you to wear a mask we provided, as our crews wearing masks, and you refused, jeopardizing the safety of our employees and their families. Given that, there was not much else we could do. There was no mention of any disassembly or reassembly of a bed with over 200 screws and bolts when discussing your job. Your crew stated that we could come back to finish the bed as we still had other jobs to finish in the rain, you stated that was fine. When your crew tried to reach you at the end of the day you stated that the services were no longer needed. Thanks again for your business, Ogre Man Movers

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

We provide a follow up call after booking, we go over the job details with you, answer any questions you may have in preparation for your move and offer any additional advice on packing items and what's needed for a safe and speedy move.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

We provide a phone call when en route to your move and as soon as we get to your location we do a walk thru to see what's being moved. We then start to wrap and protect items if we are loading, and get them into your truck or Storage container as safely and timely as possible. If its an unload, we do a walk thru to see the lay out of your home and ask where you want your belongings and then unload and unwrap your items safely and speedy. In both cases feel free to ask us to re arrange any of your items.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

To be best prepared to save time and money, everything should be packed and wrapped and ready for your move. However, we understand moving is quite overwhelming and can be a lot to deal with, in which case, were happy to come in and pack your entire household up, bring supplies such as boxes, tape, blankets, everything needed for a successful move. Then just sit back, put your feet up and let us take care of everything from start to finish.

What types of moves have you handled?

We have been in this industry for over 15 years and have seen and done it all. We do everything from nationwide cross country moves, to office moves, residential home moves, white glove services for art and sculptures, to grand and upright pianos, vehicle and motorcycle deliveries, as well as animal delivery and everything single thing in between. There is not a single thing we haven't encountered and are prepared for everything we come across.

What training do you provide your crew members?

What makes us special is that we only hire experienced movers with a minimum of 5 years moving experience, the average is 7 to 10 years. What that means, is that very little training if any is needed, but provided when necessary to meet our standards for quality. Experience and knowledge is shared between movers on every job so our team continues to get stronger and more knowledgeable with every job.
