They were able to come an hour early when they finished their previous job early and were so quick they finished with unloading and bringing my stuff up two flights of stairs in about 35 minutes. Will absolutely use again if possible.

They were late by several minutes but, they called to advise me of such so it wasn't a problem.
The team worked hard and were extremely patient as I asked them to move the furniture around until I was satisfied with the layout of the room.

Smart Move was contracted for the job. On 1/30 they arrived late, saying it was traffic. The 4 men who came appeared to be very young and smelled of marijuana. The first thing that happened is they dropped the safe and it fell into the wall, putting a gash in the wall that needs repaired. They were so careless in carting furniture down the stairs. They broke the leg of our stuffed Bernhardt chair (it will cost $1152.00 to replace) and left a big gash in the wooden stair case. They worked very slowly and spent much of their time on their phones while trying to wrap our furniture. They threw items into the containers rather than packing them securely. At 3pm when they should have been mostly done, there was so much work to still do and they told us we needed another container to fit the remaining furniture. My husband went to investigate the containers and was appalled when he saw how our belongings were thrown into containers without care. He immediately contacted Smart Move and spoke to Taylor, a supervisor who inadvertently handed the situation over to his boss, Aaron. In the meantime, I paid an additional $400 for 2 more hours of work from these men hoping they could get it together. They did virtually nothing those 2 hours. Upon speaking with Aaron, he promised that the $400 would be refunded immediately and that on 1/31, another team of supervisors would come to inspect and complete the job. Taylor, whom we had spoken to was one of those men who showed up on 1/31. He said he was appalled at the job that was done and said it was completely unacceptable. Along with 2 other men who came on 1/31, they completely unloaded and repacked all the containers. We had 4 containers and when they were fully loaded there was room to spare. This team did a good job. Taylor attempted to repair the gash in the wall but it was not a good job. This will need a professional to repair. The gash in the wooded staircase railing is still there. This delay cost us much money as we were to leave from Nashville to Portland, OR where we are moving in 1/31. We had to pay for an additional night at a hotel, loss of pay at our jobs and cost in delaying the trip. We are asking for a FULL REFUND IMMEDIATELY along with the cost of what it will be to replace the Bernhardt Chair. This is the refund expected ….. $1997.00 initial cost of move, $400.00 payment for additional 2 hours, $1152.00 cost to replace Bernhardt chair, $150.00 additional night at hotel $3699.00 is the refund we expect. It is not our desire to take legal action to receive this refund.
We will NEVER use Hire A Helper again.
