Loaders miscalculated space for our furniture left for Pod 2. When they left after loading Pod 1 they said remaining furniture and boxes would all fit and possibly some room left over. When they actually loaded Pod 2, After loading some furniture and all the boxes plus bed & mattress, box springs they informed us they probably couldn’t get everything in, and they didn’t. Which means I had to give up good furniture, which I told them was a priority. If I’d had them unload all the way back to the boxes and not take the boxes I would’ve had pay for more hours and it was already questionable that they could do a professional job. After discussing first thing how they would prepare my wool rug and a seagrass rug they left it for last and hurriedly handled it and even bent it in half planning on trying to fit it in that way! That’s the worst thing you can do to a rug, damaging the backing that holds it together! For $402 I expected professional movers that can calculate a lot better than this and follow through on handling furnishings properly. I’m not happy that I’m leaving furniture behind at the last minute, and may find damaged furniture and rugs that were not packed, prepared, or handled properly. I had plenty blankets to cover everything with 5 left over and almost a whole roll of wrap that they could’ve wrapped around some of the pieces that I saw blankets falling off. These guys need better training. They were nice... but I needed good furniture loaders and not best friends. I don’t recommend them.

Mover's response:
Your review of the same two guys a week prior (literally 6 reviews below this 1) completely contradicts these claims...."These guys did a great job loading heavy furniture, boxes and a piano - and in the hot Florida July heat! Matthew and Dakota work well as a team. They’ll be back in a few days to load the second Pod, and then the Pods hit the road for TN, where a new team will unload." ......I will just clear the air and let it be known that you expected to fit EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING was priority for you as you spoke those exact words in my presence when I was dropping extra equipment off to the guys. I came in and checked on everything and it was all going well. I do know we all voiced concerns about items not fitting. I do apologize about items not fitting, but unfortunately we cannot change the circumstances that led to items not fitting. The truth is that you would have needed to have another PODS container to achieve that goal. To claim these guys are inexperienced is a low blow. Both, Matthew
and Dakota do infact have experience and tremendous customer service skills. I think that this review is unfair and you are lashing out due to the fact that you had too much to physically fit into 2 PODS and you are looking for someone to blame because the unrealistic budget you set was exceeded. You claimed to recieve "best friends" when you were looking for "furniture loaders." I'm not sure how to interpret that statement but I will say that we truly do appreciate your business and your feedback and we will continue to provide great services at great rates.

They were an hour early, which was fantastic because we were able to get on the road earlier. They wrapped everything very well and were very efficient at packing the truck.

Great men and a job well done!

Mover's response:
Thanks for the wonderful review, Rhett, I know Orlando and Matthew appreciate it as much as I do.

I was skeptical when only two people came to load my 3 BR house, but the husband and wife team got everything packed and loaded. On top of that, they handled my family's belongings with care were very friendly throughout the process.

Mover's response:
Thanks, Cliff. The service you describe is the type of service one can always expect from A Move Ahead Movers.

These guys were wonderful.
I wasn't actually moving, just putting things in a PODS for a home remodel.
They actually called to ask if they could come earlier than planned, were very professional, extremely polite and considerate. They certainly knew what and how to move everything and were very careful of our items. I was very happy and they finished well within the 3 hour window.

I am having the company come back after the remodel to move the items again. I hope I get the same wonderful guys. What a joy to have.

Mover's response:
Matt and Dakota would be happy to be the ones to assist with the unloand and asked that you just request them when booking.

In preparation for my July 14 packing appointment I communicated all my concerns and questions to Tony Boyd at Move Ahead movers and followed his requirements to the "t" re purchasing 48 packing blankets, bubble wrap and mirror boxes, film wrap, rope, and tape. Tony warned that my property would otherwise not be 'insured'. Anessa arrived on time with her helper for our scheduled 3 hour appointment. They wore masks per my request most of the time. I did a quick walk through with Anessa pointing out the more valuable and fragile items I had discussed with Tony as well as the packing materials he specified. Anessa informed me at this point that Tony had taken her truck so she did not have her toolbox and was not properly prepared. This did not bode well. The main inconsistencies and miscommunications I want to report are these:
1. Large mirrors and framed artwork and expensive mattresses were not wrapped per agreement.
2. Fragile family heirloom clock marked with bright orange stickers and "This side UP" was placed upside down by trainee.
3. Due to lack of proper tools I had to borrow screwdriver from neighbor and we disassembled furniture ourselves to expedite the packing as time was running out.
4. Trainee was extremely careless and I watched him knock furniture into truck, and fence and literally break a fragile head board. I voiced my alarm but he seemed unfazed.
5. They exceeded the 3 hour appt. by a 2 full hours despite my family's involvement and then Move Ahead left without a final walk through leaving bedframes, mirrors, random furniture pieces and hardware scattered throughout the house and shed.
6. I paid Move Ahead for two professional packers and got one. Although Anessa worked diligently and capably she could not accomplish the job of two people in the allotted 3 hours. The fiscal onus of training should not be borne by the customer!
I expect compensation if any of my property was damaged by the slipshod packing.

Mover's response:
I highly doubt that you will have damages as I (Annessa) loaded these PODS containers and I definitely know what I'm doing to a "t." To address the mask issue right upfront- we wear a mask on any and all orders that a customer has requested we do so. We do not under any circumstances remove our mask in doors or in the proximity of our customer-even when outdoors. With that being said, we will and do take them down any and every chance we get. Once we walk out that front door we lower them and gasp for those much need deep breaths of air. Working in masks is very hot and very hard, especially in this Florida heat! Wearing these masks is already an added stress to an already challenging and stressful job, so bear that in mind while also considering that for social distancing to work it definitely helps the situation if you wear a mask as well! Remember its WE not ME! Now to touch on your many points....(1.) The mirrors and art work were not all wrapped due to lack of supplies on your behalf and the bed was not wrapped as a lot of things were skipped when you started rushing along the process and trying to get your family/neighbos involved. They are actually the ones who brought the mattress out to me to while I was loading. (2.) I'm not sure what happened with the fragile box being turned upside down but I will say that it is known in our industry that a properly packed box can be turned any direction unless it contains liquids and any special items should be marked accordingly as to not be mishandled (3.) As far as the tools being left, that was totally a mistake on our end, but keep in mind an offer to go buy proper tools (off the clock) was denied by you followed by you opting to borrow tools from the neighbor and dissemble it yourself as you even mentioned (that's why I was surprised one of the complaints was that we left random hardware around the house that you found after the move, yet admitted to being the one to disassemble most items with a neighbor/family. (4.)As far as the mover you keep refering to as a trainee, he has been with our company for quite some time and also has verifiable prior moving experience. I am aware that there is a language barrier with Olando if you don't speak spanish-he can speak and understand English to a communicable point so that may be why he was "unfased" (as you put it) as he may not have understood you several times, as English is not his 1st language and he is still learning. As far as Orlando being careless-it's the first I've heard about it. Also you claim to have witnessed him break a headboard?? I noticed that you said in your review that you expect to be compensated IF damage occurs from the "slipshod packing", directly contradicting the statement claiming to have witnessed Orlando damage furniture?? 5.) As far as items being left over that can be accounted to the unfortunate fact that we cannot make more items fit into the containers than physically possible and unfortunately on this day that was the case with those left over items. 6.) You have made claims to suggest Annessa did more work than Orlando or that "she could not accomplish the job of two people in the allotted 3 hours" to be exact yet the two of them managed to load 2 containers in 5 hours. Thanks for your business, Angela.
