I contacted Rick Kirby to confirm what time their movers would start. He said that they would be there between 9-10. They arrived late; about 10:15. The foreman was a college student, home on holiday break. He was not well prepared for the extent of the job, nor was he able to manage the packing process. Numerous times, I had to remind him that he had items left in rooms that had complimentary items already packed. For example, we have an antique roll top desk. the base unit was placed in one POD and the top portion was loaded in another POD, hours later. Clearly, he forgot and didn't plan well.
Also, we provided moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape for the move. I made sure there were supplies of blankets conveniently placed in the upstairs and downstairs and that the movers were aware. I offered to get more blankets if needed. After the first POD was full, I realized that they had not used a moving blanket nor wrapped any furniture to protect it in the container. After we complained, they started using more blankets in the second POD, however, they didn't offer to go back and repack the first POD.
When moving our refrigerator, they turned the unit and the wheels cut multiple deep scratches into our hard wood floors. Once that happened, I contacted Rick Kirby and texted photos. He didn't offer to repair or take any additional steps to fix the situation. As a result, I have to hire a flooring contractor to refinish the floor before the buyers will purchase our house. I'm waiting for the contractor to work me into their schedule and this is delaying the closing as a result.
On December 27, I inspected the contents in the container prior to PODS picking them up on December 28th. I took photos of damaged furniture and other items that were not packed properly and texted them to Rick Kirby. He replied that he didn't have any movers available and would "see what he could do". I have not heard back from him, nor has he stopped by to inspect the damage for himself. Not only do I recommend that you take him off your vendor list, I will be leaving him a revised review on your site and on Google.
I'm not only disappointed in the crew, I am also very disappointed in the fact that Rick doesn't want to make things right with us.

The helper himself was AMAZING. He definitely showed up to work! However, the company wasn’t too impressive. We paid for 2 helpers for 2 hours and they only sent one - but he said the 2nd guy was coming and they would give us a 3rd hour for free for the inconvenience. However, a 2nd guy never showed up, and it definitely took more than 3 hours (we brought additional help as well knowing that it was going to be a strenuous process). When my husband called to discuss the issue, we were told they would give us a discount, but they didn’t. We were also threatened with a court case for “breaching the contract” if we didn’t pay what was originally agreed upon - when they breached the contract for not sending 2 helpers. [He also told my husband that money was the root of all evil] It was extremely unprofessional all around. I would have much preferred to pay our helper the $200 than to pay the company - my husband keeps saying he basically paid $200+ for him and our friend to move our own belongings, which is unfortunate. We tipped well and fed our helper dinner, though, because we felt bad that he was most likely not going to be compensated what he deserved.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
They expect the initial phone call in timely manner to discuss the details of their move, time of arrival and what services we provide.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We show up on time, introduce ourselves, do the complimentary walk through in order to get familiar with their residence and determine what items are going on a load and where items go on an unload.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The best moves are a wonderful collaboration our moving skills, basic tools, and the customer provide equipment and protective materials such as moving blankets, stretch wrap, bubble wrap and mattress bags.
What types of moves have you handled?
We've been in business for more than 13 years over which time we've done local, long distance, and office moves. The majority of the moves have been local residential moves which is our core business.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
I was in the mortgage industry for almost 20 years when I started this company as a way to give my customers quality moves at an affordable price. I really enjoy walking into a home on a load job and their items are everywhere and in every room and watching the customer's face light up when we successfully empty the home into their moving truck safely and securely.
What training do you provide your crew members?
Each mover receives thorough class room policy and procedure training before they ever go out on a moving job. Then they get on going on the job practical training with regular assessments of their progress.
