They were early to arrive, ready to work, and helped us move various items within our office. They had some complicated furniture to disassemble and they stuck with it. Glad to have them help us and we do recommend them.

The guys that moved us were GREAT!! They worked so hard and fast! Very professional and helpful. Two vehicles blocked our 26' truck in with only a couple inches on each end so we couldn't get it out. But the guys got it out no problem. They were life savers. We highly recommend them plus we would definatly use them again.

Helpers arrived timely. You have to pay for a minimum of two hours - understandably - however, they had the truck unpacked in less than an hour - but some boxes were brought in and stacked upside down and sideways due to the "hurry up" mentality.
I would hire them again - but would ask that they "slow down"

We moved on July 1 and four men came on time, prepared for the task ahead. This was the best move experience I've ever had in moving 9 times. This was a local move, from Raleigh to Zebulon in the 90+ degree July heat with a great attitude. They were hard working, lifting furniture and many heavy boxes of books into our second floor office and third floor attic. They were respectful of our property, very polite and pleasant to be around, and handled our antique furniture with care. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Wonderful experience - thank you!

We hired Smart Move for both our loading and unloading crews, which took place in two cities on consecutive days. In each case, the crews were on time, communicative, friendly, and made efforts to meet our deadlines. They worked hard and we tipped well.
The problems with the job of the loading crew (in Durham) were the following:
1. They spilled two loaded dollies of boxes while negotiating two outdoor brick steps. I can only hope my books survived intact. (I haven’t unpacked yet.)
2. Although I said on the phone that I would need furniture wrapped and to bring lots of wrap, for which I expected to pay, the crew packed a lot of furniture unwrapped, including all my upholstered furniture. Since they did not even put their paper wrap on the truck floor underneath the furniture, it arrived really dirty. This was when I started to get upset.
3. Three pieces of furniture were severely damaged. A decorative piece on a metal coffee table had been snapped off (almost an inch diameter of metal). A metal leg on a brass occasional table was snapped off. The pedestal base of the wooden dining table was also snapped off: we hope to reattach it.
Although the loading crew seemed like professionals, we discovered at unloading (into storage units) that the job was very disappointing. I am concerned about the rest of the wooden furniture if our sturdy metal furniture suffered these breaks.
The unloading crew in Asheville was surprised at the problems and took photos, but I have not heard from Smart Move.
We still have to unload from storage and move into our new home at the end of the month. I am worried about how to trust ratings and pick a mover.
