UPDATE 2: Smart Move reached out to me to see what they could do to make things right. They were extremely apologetic and waited patiently as I finally unpacked the rest of our belongings. Everything (thankfully) made it A-Ok and I'm thankful to Smart Move not only for their help initially, but also for their willingness to go above and beyond should anything have happened.

UPDATE: I moved cross-country and through the mountains in a 16' truck. At one point it blew a tire and I had to be lifted onto a tow truck for further repair. I noticed the load had shifted and I had Budget help me solidify it a bit before I got on the road again.
I got to our new home and discovered that nothing was tied down and the moving blankets I rented were barely used. They used the roll of plastic wrap to (separate? I guess?) the rows of our things but nothing was strapped, roped, or fully secured in any way.
If we were moving across the state that would have been fine, but they knew that we were not only going across a state.
We still haven't unpacked everything, so right now unopened boxes and unmounted TVs are Schrodinger's belongings. I just hope it's all ok.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
My favorite part about being a mover is meeting new people everyday. Some of these relationships have lasted over 15 years!
