Beware of Hired Helper — would never use them again.
On June 1st I had a client who needed help with an unload, so we called Hired Helper and they sent a crew out. They were a little above competent — good thing we had a manager on site to tell them exactly what to do. To their credit, they worked hard and they were polite, and even though it wasn’t five-star service, we were still planning to tip them.
What really took us for a loop was when they said they get paid the moment they hit the property — whether they’re working or not. When they pulled up, one of my men was already inside prepping the floors, putting down protection to make sure nothing got damaged. The truck was still locked. After my manager finished securing the floors, he came out, unlocked the truck, and then they got started.
At the end of the move, they hit us with another half hour — claiming the clock started the second the truck rolled onto the property. Meaning they were billing while they were literally still parking. They had no idea I own a moving company myself.
I’ve been in business 15 years and I would never, ever do my clients like that. I don’t charge a dime until after we do a walk-through and come up with a clear plan — so we’re not wasting the client’s money and they actually have a pleasant experience. That’s how you earn a good review, maybe even a tip. This guy wasn’t worried about a tip, a review, or anything else. He just wanted 30 minutes he wasn’t entitled to.
I’m so glad my manager was there, and so glad the client I referred them to didn’t have to deal with any of it. Beware of this crew. I would never use them again.

Genuinely unprepared, they showed up for a 2nd floor move in an apartment complex with no equipment and no plan. The first thing they did was bust my desk dropping it down the stairs. Willie seemed to know what he was doing but Peter was clueless. I had to stop halfway through the move to go buy a dolly for them because I thought they were gonna break every other piece of furniture too. Willie tried to fix my desk but busted is busted. It’s crazy that this is the service they provide for the money. I will be filing a claim.

I’d originally booked with the company and the day before they were supposed to come they declined the job which very much angered me. So I went with this company and I couldn’t be happier with them. The two gentleman that showed up were extremely professional very knowledgeable and they packed my moving pod with not even an inch to spare. They were so excellent. I highly recommend this company.
