Worth noting, our experience with the second crew was significantly better than the first crew. Workers dinged furniture and walls, and at times carried furniture in dangerous carrying positions. Based on the first crew, would not recommend without verifying that workers are experienced.

We used S&L for packing up our POD for a cross-country move. The movers showed up late due to a previous job running late (was relayed by owner at the time, and benefited us in our packing). It felt like the two movers were trying to rush the entire time in order to get back their afternoon. Moving is stressful enough, but the movers made it even more stressful on the day.
As for the packing job itself, the two movers disagreed the entire time about how to appropriately pack the POD, with one eventually ceding to the more reckless one with a "you'll see" attitude. In the end, boxes marked fragile were placed on the bottom of piles and crushed. Heavy boxes were also placed on a mattress, which caused them to shift during travel. Despite being supplied with rope, the movers refused to use any, a decision my unboxing movers judged heavily. We had started the moving process by identifying critically important furniture pieces to our family and emphasized extra care when packing them (bubblewrap, moving blankets, and plastic wrap were provided) and each of the 4 marked items arrived with some form of damage.
While we were initially thankful for the help of movers (we have always moved by ourselves in the past), it wasn't until we met the destination movers that we realized how much S&L's performance fell short. If it wasn't for the amazing movers I had on the East Coast, this experience would make me question using Hire A Helper in the future.

We've noticed that customers who have items already packed and furniture items wrapped save time and money. However, we are more than happy to assist with any of these task the day of the move, just please book adequate time if any of these services are needed

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part is seeing customers looks of relief after we've assisted them and also knowing that our company assisted in minimizing some of the customers stress that comes along with moving
What training do you provide your crew members?
Our service providers and sub-contracted and most already have the needed skills to perform the job. I've heard that they stay updated by actual on the job experiences dealing with unexpected issues and how-to video guides available online
