We hired two guys for two hours to move seven pieces of furniture from our storage locker. The rental truck was rented right at the storage facility. Raishaund was professional and demonstrated he knew how to move furniture. They arrived on time and jumped right in moving the 7 pieces. The guy that raishaud hired was not professional nor experienced. Raishaund had to tell him how to do everything. The guy wanted us to take photos of him moving pieces and asked us to the video him in action. He said it was for a promo video of himself. This was disruptive.
During the move, as they were moving a heavy piece, several sidewalk plastic divider strips were broken. There would have been more broken had we not intervened and insisted they lay down cardboard over the strips.
Later in the move the guy fell inside the house, dropped our hutch, but caught it with his hand and it did not hit the ground. He fell to the ground and was injured . We administered first aid and then left to go to the emergency room. He believed he needed stitches.
At this point Raishaund stated we'd used most of our two hours (we disagree) and we were left with two options. One, we could contract for another two hours, or we could help with the rest of the move ourselves.
I'm 80, my wife is 70. We had two pieces left to move and we decided to help. We wanted the job done. When moving the hutch into position, he scratched it, by moving it into place. The scratch is about 5 inches long. He took pictures of the damage and suggested we buy a furniture stick at home depot to help cover the damage.
Helping move the last 2 pieces took another 45 minutes. We do appreciate Raishaunds willingness to wrap up the job at no additional cost to us.
We are confused as how to rate this experience. We had damage to the patio strips, a scratched hutch and we're left to finish the job. On the other hand, raishaud had no control over who was sent to him from the agency. Raishaud tried to make it good and we did get moved. The rating for certain aspects are good, others not so good, so we will not give a final rating, as we don't want it to totally make raishaud receive a negative rating. It appears we are mandated to leave a rating in order to finish the review, So we will comply, but do not believe it accurately reflects our experience.
