The movers at Xtra mile moving were very nice and professional, and efficient with the unloading of my POD. They were also available last-minute as my other movers had to cancel for personal reasons.

Only one thing to say. They are the best. Very professional and very knowledgeable as well as putting things back together. They were definitely a pleasure to have met. I’d recommend them for anybody’s job and they definitely can work for me again. Thanks for all you did.??

Mover's response:
You're good people, thats what founded America, until Obama brought in homosexuality, that was our decline, America was one nation under God. Jesus christ

BUYER BEWARE If we could give this company zero stars we would. Hired them months prior to move. Pre-paid in full. Never showed. Did not call or text. We contacted support and all they offered was to send 2 movers the next day. Said the only response is the system shows a “no show”. Left us in a real bind on moving day. Take our advice and DO NOT use this company.

It is my natural inclination to lift people up especially since the world has gone through so much because of the pandemic and other instances of unrest. However, I also feel obligated to share my experience with Xtra Mile Moving so that perhaps another person could be spared the disappointment, inconvenience, physical pain, and unprofessionalism that we experienced last weekend.

It started last week when we found HireAHelper online and ordered the service of a mover to help us move items from an apartment to a U-Haul truck. We knew that we would be tired from working all week and then driving 4 hours to the residence that we wanted to get packed up. So, we made arrangements to hire a mover to pack the U-Haul for us.

We were ecstatic to get the news via email at 11 PM Thursday night that "Xtra Mile Moving" agreed to take the job. It stated that they would get in touch with us. We waited until 4PM Friday and when we did not hear from them, I called the number listed and spoke with Derrick Void. When I called, after the greeting and confirmation of the booking time, Mr. Void asked to move the appointment time up. I asked how far up he was talking about moving the appointment.

*Mr. Void of Xtra Mile Moving said that he wanted to move the time from the scheduled time of 4PM Saturday to 10 AM Saturday—a whopping 6 hours earlier than we had booked. I told him that I would have to ask my family because we arranged to pick up the U-Haul at 230 PM, but that I would call him back to let him know. We also had made a reservation at the kennel for early Saturday morning.

I talked to my family and we were able to move the U-Haul rental time up to 8:30 AM. Also, by the Grace of God, an opening at the kennel became available so that we could drop off the family pet Friday evening. Though we were prepared to leave out early Saturday morning, since we were able to change the times at both the kennel in the town where we live and the U-Haul in the town where the apartment that was supposed to be emptied was, we agreed to work with Mr. Void. I called him back and told him that we would drive down that night. When I asked him what I needed to do to confirm this new time and he told me, “You ain’t gotta do nothin’ else. Talkin’ to me is enough.” I believed him. A businessman’s word is his bond, right? Especially after we changed our plans drastically and gave up precious sleep to drive down the night before to accommodate his preferred schedule. Again, he was the one who asked for an earlier time, but we were willing to work with him.

*So, with back pain and tired, over-worked middle-aged limbs, we drove for 4 hours to keep our end of the deal. We arrived late that night. After a rough night of sleeping for hours on the floor (our beds were already moved), we got up and went to the U-Haul rental center to make our 830 appointment. We drove the truck to the apartment and waited until 10 AM—no Derrick Void, no Xtra Mile Moving. Well, we realized that not everyone is going to be exactly on time—so we gave it some time. So, I called his contact number a little before 10:45 AM and got no answer. So then, we called the alternative number, and it was out of service. We were really worried at this point. We contacted HireAHelper after the unanswered calls to see what happened (we were genuinely concerned that something bad happened to the movers en route). We spoke with a HireAHelper specialist and they called and even they did not get an answer.
So, we decided to text Mr. Void. This is how it went:
My text at 10:49: “Are you on your way?"
Mr. Void’s response at 11:20: “Yes”
My text at 11:23 AM: “What is your ETA?”
Mr. Void’s response at 11:26 AM: “I’m trying to fix my car fuel line. I can’t talk now.”
I wished him well.
Around noon, we started putting some fragile items in the U-Haul ourselves and leaving other sturdy items in the apartment for the movers (who were paid in advance) to place in the truck.

*Time passed all the way up until 5PM and we did not hear ANYTHING from Mr. Void or anyone from Xtra Mile Moving since that 11:26 AM text. Don’t get me wrong, we understand that stuff happens, but the lack of communication was problematic and his failure to communicate severely compromised our time.
Someone else on his crew could’ve communicated with us if he was “otherwise occupied.” We hired 2 helpers.
Although HireAHelper was very helpful, Mr. Void’s lack of business sensitivity cost us time and money and caused us physical pain because his lack of communication did not allow us or HireAHelper to secure backup help in time. We also could not secure proper moving equipment in time to make our burdens lighter. Mr. Void nor a representative of Xtra Mile Moving ever apologized or offered an explanation.
In summary, in our case, the only “extra mile” that Xtra Mile Moving went was the extra mile to inconvenience us and hijack our weekend.

I appreciate all the work Derrick and his team did. They unloaded a large U-haul in a short amount of time. They were very professional and hard working. I would absolutely use their help again if I need it.

Derrick and his team were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I moved from another state and I wasn't sure what I was going to get. These three men were very polite, on time, took care of my belongings as if the items were their own and got the job done quickly. Hands down the best movers you could use. I would recommend them over and over again.
Thank you

Derrick provided great service. Extremely professional. Showed up on time and worked diligently to get my heavy items moved to the third floor. New to the area but will definitely use and recommend again.

Well I filled out the info as requested asking for wrapping and tools I had to wrap my own stuff I also put in my request that it was 2 flights of steps the movers arrived and said they didn’t say anything about stairs..... and the grand finale and 4 hours later and $500.00 poorer they left my belongings unassembled and my living room furniture on the Uhaul truck and left because the lead mover said his wife was waiting for him and she had been waiting for 30 min. There was no apology there was no let me find you a replacement they up and left me and my kids without our things sitting on the floor and still took my payment I am very unhappy extremely dissatisfied I have never encountered anything like this and I wish hirehelper was willing to do more to compensate for this inconvenience because I was told if the job ran over you would be charged by the hour they worked the first 3 hours they stopped and ate lunch and came back for 1 last hour. So was it professional to take a lunch and then come back after your lunch and say you have to leave after an hour and the job had not yet been complete. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER!!!!!
