This compny really helped me out. The first scheduled pickup was unsuccessful, due to an abusive husband. The company only charged me a small portion of the total cost. I said I would use this company and I did.
Steve and Mario were on time, quick to efficiently load and unload containers. They accommodated my needs. They were respectful and polite. I will definitely use their company again.

Would NOT recommend overall. I am being generous by giving a two-star rating, the only reason being that they were able to accept my last-minute request to move on a Sunday, and the two movers arrived with the truck on time. Everything else was bad. I had a packed-up one bedroom apartment to move down the street two blocks, with elevators reserved at both locations. It took over 9 hours, which they attempted to strong arm me into paying for after dumping my stuff at my new place right inside the front door with zero regard to the labels on the “Fragile-Do Not Stack” boxes (which of course were on the bottom of stacks of boxes labeled “Books”, “Bedroom Closet-Shoes”, etc.). I refused to pay the ADDITIONAL $800+ the two “movers” (who were NOT in uniform and who did NOT arrive with the items listed in the ad) demanded and when I questioned them about it was told they would just have to “call the police” on me. I knew then that this would be a struggle moving forward and here it is, three weeks later, and no police have contacted me yet these scam artists are still holding some of my items hostage. Yep, that’s right. I was the first (and probably only given the time they left) move that day, so whatever was in that truck should have all been mine and unloaded at the new apartment. I watched it all go out the door: a very large area rug, one couch cushion and couch pillow, the hardware to assemble my bed, and a couple other things I didn’t bother reporting. I didn’t even notice these items were missing when they said they were done and demanded the extra money. So, clearly these items were being held on purpose in the event I decided not to pay for their lack of efficiency, tons of excuses, or hour long lunch for which the receipt was found in a re-taped up box of my belongings. They confirmed that the missing items were “found”, but I still have not received them. So. I have been sleeping on an air mattress after many unsuccessful attempts to find similar sized bolts for my king-sized bedframe, had to order a new area rug for my living room, and have what amounts to 2/3 of a couch I can sit on. Two of the five beers I had unpacked myself and put in my fridge were also “missing”. These guys are scammers and this was by far the worst moving experience I have ever had. Bottom line: don’t click that link in the email to “just confirm the job is complete” unless you are ready to pay that money and you look inside that truck yourself. I am still working on getting my stuff back but am glad I didn’t fork over any more cash in the process.
To begin with, the elevators at the original location were not reserved, despite the customer’s claim. Our movers had to share elevator access with three other moving companies, which impacted the timing of the move—something completely outside our control.
When our team arrived, the customer was not fully packed or prepared to move, despite this being a last-minute booking. Our movers went above and beyond by assisting her with packing, which is not typically included in the base service. Despite this, they worked non-stop throughout the move.
Regarding the claim of “items being held hostage,” we want to clarify: yes, the hardware for the bed and a rug were mistakenly left on the truck. This was an honest oversight, and once located, we attempted to coordinate their return. However, as clearly stated in our terms, all account balances must be paid in full for any claim to be reviewed or items to be returned. The customer refused to pay for the full service, despite receiving additional assistance outside the scope of the original agreement.
At no time did the customer raise concerns with our movers during the job, nor did she call our office to file a complaint. If she truly felt she was being “scammed” or items were “stolen,” contacting the authorities would have been the logical step—which she never did.
We understand moving can be a difficult time, especially under rushed or stressful circumstances. However, this review appears to reflect deeper frustrations unrelated to the service we provided. We stand by the professionalism and work ethic which can be verified but all of our other reviews.

They were late. They moved very slow. I felt like they were moving slow on purpose. They were careless with my items. I most likely wouldn’t hire them again.
While we made every effort to stay on schedule, traffic during the travel from the pickup to the drop-off location unfortunately caused some delays. The unloading location also involved three flights of stairs, which naturally added to the overall time and effort required.
Although the move was booked as a studio, our team arrived with a 26-foot truck, and the amount of items ended up filling more than half of it—suggesting the move was a bit larger than expected. Even so, our crew worked hard to complete the job as efficiently as possible.
We weren’t made aware of any concerns during the move itself, and would have welcomed the opportunity to address them in real time. That said, we’re always open to feedback and committed to continuously improving the experience for all of our customers.

There were 3 helpers. They were on time. They were fast and polite. They took the time to wrap everything really good and nothing got damaged in the move. They packed this truck from top to bottom. No space was left empty. I could not have asked another thing from this smooth move. I would definitely recommend you use this company.

These were the worst movers I've ever encountered.
The movers were almost over an hour late to arrive. The scheduled time to arrive was 8am-9am, the movers didn't arrive until 9:54am. I was told the diesel gauge wasn't working so they get held up. First bad sign.
Three movers were hired for my move (I wanted 2 movers but HireAHelper insisted on 3) and these movers were the most unprofessional movers I have ever come across. All 3 movers had their underwear hanging out from sagging pants intentionally the entire time. One of the movers wasn't an official mover and instead hired as "A helper" and was extremely rude and callous towards us.
These movers do not care about your belongings at all! They didn't wrap any dressers/File Cabinets/any furniture with drawers on it and would let the drawers slide in and out constantly. When asking to use moving blankets and shrink wrap on our TVs, they gave a look of disgust and tried to argue that they didn't need to do that for the move but I insisted. One of the movers made a rude comment when I asked for this and I when I asked them to repeat what they said they completely ignored me and walked away instead.
The movers would constantly sit in the moving truck doing absolutely nothing and just talk to stall out the clock as much as possible. They will draw out as much time as possible to get as much money from you as possible and are NOT considerate about your time and possessions at all. The place where we moved to is 15 minutes away. We left the initial home at the same time to go to the new location and we waited for 20 minutes at the new home before they arrived. They made an excuse stating that their gps took them through winding neighborhoods and charged for 45 minutes of travel time when the travel time is only 15 minutes.
The move with all of the same valuables from a previous home to my current home took 2 hours with 2 movers. 5Star Relocation Services took almost SIX hours to complete the move since they were doing nothing over half the time and stalling out the clock. The company should be named 1Star Relocation Services.
If you care about your time, your valuables, and professionalism, then do NOT hire these movers. 2 Men and a Truck, Black Tie Movers, there are so many better movers out there. Do NOT give these people your time or money. Absolute waste of money and time.
