S&L Express Moving could not have been any better... They were prompt, extremely capable and professional... They exceeded my expectations by far... They made a stressful situation much better, I was emptying my late mother in law's house... I highly recommend S&L Express Movers
Chris and Tyler did a great job! I would use and recommend Illinois Valley Movers. They were running a little late, but kept me apprised of their progress. They arrived and got to work. It was raining, but they didn't complain. Worked with me on loading the truck and making sure everything was secured. They did great work!
AWESOME!!! Gabriel an crew worked their a** off and were friendly and helpful. Would give more stars if could !!!
Lloyd and his brother did an amazing job helping us pack our house into a storage pod. They clearly have experience in their trade and know exactly how to navigate it all. They worked hard and went above and beyond to help us. They were very professional and friendly. Easy to work with. We definitely recommend using Lloyd Moving and Labor.
Danil and his helper were on time and focused. They introduced themselves and went right to it, unloading and moving what needed to be done. Very pleasant and efficient workers. I would use them again and recommend to my friends and neighbors. Thank you again!

About DeKalb, IL
If you're moving to DeKalb, IL, you're headed to a small city rich in history and home to Northern Illinois University (NIU). Located about 65 miles west of Chicago, DeKalb is a quiet college-town. The heart of the city lies along Lincoln Highway (Route 38), where you’ll find the historic downtown with local shops, restaurants, and cultural spots like the 1929, fully restored, Egyptian Theatre.
DeKalb has a range of neighborhoods to choose from, whether you’re looking for proximity to NIU or a more suburban feel. The Ellwood Historic District is known for its beautiful old homes, while areas near First Street and Hillcrest Drive cater to students and young professionals. For those looking for more space, homes in the Knolls at Prairie Creek development offer newer construction with larger lots.
If you love outdoor activities, DeKalb won’t disappoint. The DeKalb Park District oversees several parks, including Hopkins Park, which is a favorite among families for its playgrounds, picnic spots, and outdoor concerts in the summer.
When moving here, it’s important to know that winters can be tough. Be prepared for snowy roads and icy conditions, especially around the more rural areas like Route 23 leading toward Sycamore. Local movers know these roads well, making it easier to navigate even in bad weather.
With HireAHelper, your move to DeKalb will be stress-free. Whether you're relocating to be closer to NIU or settling in a family-friendly neighborhood, our local Helpers know the ins and outs of the area and can make your transition smooth and hassle-free.

Both gentlemen, Chris and I'm sorry but I forgot the other man's name, were professional, courteous and increadibly fast. They did in one hour what would have taken me four or five hours. I would highly recommend.
This team was great. We had an issue before the team arrived, Ray talked to the team and resolved it before they even arrived. The worked fast and were easy to talk to during the job.
All Star Movers were prompt and arrived ready to work. They quickly and efficiently tackled a tough job - getting furniture and appliances out of the basement, negotiating tight stairs and an awkward doorway without ever touching the walls or woodwork. I couldn’t believe they managed it! I will definitely be calling them again. Thank you guys!
This is the third time using this service. As always, the guys were friendly, worked hard and were very careful with our stuff. I highly recommend them.
The fellas really were awesome they took way more care to safely secure my antique items than I would have. That's how you get $100 tips. Thank you fellas GREAT job.

Chris and Anthony were on time, friendly and were very receptive to any of our requests. They did a very good job. We would be glad to use them again if needed.
These guys worked quick & efficiently without breaking a sweat! They had 2 flights of stairs, so many heavy boxes & still managed to maintain a grest attitude, crack a joke here & there. Great job!!
They were so professional, called to let us know there was a brief delay upon arrival. They worked extremely well together. Everything was done with complete care and respect. I would use this team again and highly recommend them
They were super fast and took care of all my belongings. Got the move done sooner than we anticipated. They had supplies such as pads and wrap. Would definitely recommend and use them again.
Arrived on time, and very professional. Had a couple hiccups along the way-but the owner of the company responded almost immediately and came himself to our house to ensure everything was moved efficiently and packed into our pod. Great customer service response and truly can tell that this company cares about the work they do.
