Once we reserved this job and hireahelper.com confirmed it, we heard nothing from RELOPRO. We had to call and got through to somebody completely rude and unprofessional. (Who answers a company phone saying "Yeah?" SERIOUSLY?) Given how lightly he took us, we felt a need to confirm again the day before. Again, he was rude. Not once were they proactive or professional in communicating with us, despite hireahelper.com's confirmation messages. The workers themselves were good. On time. Prepared, except they hadn't read (or had not been informed of) our request in the bid to put beds together. They were annoyed at having to do this, and ended up going over the time we reserved them for (costing us an extra $90). Other than this, the movers themselves were fine. And we can't help but wonder if whoever we dealt with on the phone dropped the ball in getting them our info, given how thoroughly unprofessional he was every time we talked.

My movers arrived right on time and did a great job. I will definitely hire relopro again and spread the word.

tl;dr: I moved with ReloPro last year and it was great, but when I scheduled them for this year, my two movers were clearly not trained and incompetent. They ignored my instructions, didn't know how to turn furniture through doorways to get it to fit, damaged my furniture by being extremely reckless, impatient, and lazy, were repeatedly on their phones while we were trying to move, complained about being tired and about needing to leave repeatedly (despite us only taking 2 1/2 hours on a 3 hour scheduled job), and glared angrily at us when we didn't give them a large tip due to their incompetence.

Two different moves, two different stories: I had ReloPro help me with my move in August 2013, and it went off without a hitch. They were great, and moved my 20 foot moving truck full of furniture into my new apartment in approximately an hour and 20 minutes without damaging anything. Jason, the owner, even came out to supervise one of the two movers who was new, and he also provided assistance in moving. Due to my good experience with ReloPro, I decided to hire them again for my move from one apartment to another this year, and boy was that a mistake.

The day of the move, Jason called me at 9:50am to tell me that the two movers (I believe he said their names were Barry and Larry, but they never told me their names during the move) were outside my place. They were scheduled to arrive between 10 and 11, but I was happy they showed up a little early. I met them outside of my old apartment building around 10, and basically just gave them a basic explanation of what I wanted done. I had several pieces of large furniture that I needed assistance in moving, and that was the priority. I wasn't worried about the smaller stuff that I could easily get on my own. I walked them into my old apartment and showed them what I wanted them to get, and one of the movers repeatedly insists that they get the smaller stuff first. I tell him at least 3 additional times that I only need them to get the larger furniture, but despite my insistence, they start moving all of my smaller belongings out to the moving truck.

After moving all of my smaller belongings, they start trying to move my larger furniture. I have a leather recliner and leather sectional sofa, and they had no idea how to turn it to get it out of the apartment. I explained it to them several times, but they kept slamming it into the doorway and left large scratches on the outside of the door. Because they had crammed the moving truck so full of smaller items before putting in the larger furniture, they had to stand some of my furniture on end (with the leather surface sitting on the floor of the moving truck with no protection), despite my insistence that they not do this. I repeatedly asked if things were going to fit because of the way they put in all of the smaller items against my wishes, and they told me no problem they knew what they were doing. Eventually they brought out my large marble table, and it wouldn't fit. We had to reorganize several things in the truck (at my instruction, because it became clear that they were incapable of figuring out how to make things fit in the truck) in order to get the marble table in because they had not left enough room for it. In addition, when they were moving my mattress from the apartment to the truck, they let the protective cover fall off of it, and then got tired and sat the mattress directly on the dirty concrete.

When we got over to my new apartment to unload the items, they repeatedly told me that items weren't going to fit through the doorways (despite my measuring it and ensuring that they would, and the doorways being the same width as the doorways in the previous apartment, which they had just gotten the furniture out of). I asked them if they wanted to move the furniture up the fire escape or the main stairs (because I was on the 2nd floor), and they wanted to move up the fire escape. On the way up the stairs, one of the movers kept getting tired. He would lay my leather furniture down in whichever way he was holding it, which frequently meant that the leather was laid directly on the perforated metal fire escape. I would explain to them how to get a piece of furniture through the door, but they just didn't get it. On a few occasions, I had to take over and do it myself because one of the movers wasn't strong enough and just didn't understand how to turn furniture to get it through the doorway. By slamming things through the doorway with no regard and laying them down on the fire escape, they left several marks and tears in my leather recliner. After this, I started moving things with the more competent of the two movers (but still incompetent), and he apologized and suddenly told me that this was only his second job. It seemed like the other mover had never done any jobs before, and that he was only helping out because they were cousins (he kept calling him "cuz"). During this time, the more competent mover was repeatedly on his phone texting, took a phone call in the middle of moving, and kept complaining that "we have to hurry up because its my day with my son." He repeatedly said we were taking too long, despite the fact that the whole move, in total, took 2 1/2 hours, and I paid for 3 hours. My mom, who was there helping me move, eventually called him out on complaining, and he said he was told that the move was only 2 hours.

When we finally got everything moved into the apartment, we had to get the legs back on the marble table, which we had to remove to transport it. We quickly got the legs back on and set the table up. Despite thinking that this was the absolutely worst service of my life (in any service field, not just moving), I am normally a generous tipper and I felt bad not tipping them at all, and so we gave them $20 each. Last year, we gave Jason and the other two movers $40 each for an hour and 20 minutes of work, and I was planning on giving them both $60 each this year if they were good, but due to the damage to my furniture, I definitely wasn't going to do that. Despite them knowing that they had damaged my furniture by being reckless, they glared angrily at both my mom and I for about a minute while picking up all their stuff from the apartment after we gave them the $20 each tip, and did not say thank you or anything in regards to the tip. One of the movers forgot one of his tools, and so my mom went out to hand it to him, and he continued to glare angrily at her and didn't even acknowledge that she brought it out to him beyond taking it from her.

I have had this furniture for several years now, and I had kept it in pristine condition, but due to these movers' incompetent, my recliner is now damaged in several places. I have moved this furniture myself, with the assistance of two friends, on a few different occasions, and the moves with my friends were significantly more difficult circumstances. We had to move the furniture up a few flights of stairs (not just one) and in tighter spaces than this move. None of the furniture got damaged in any of these previous moves, despite both my friends and myself having no previous moving experience.

They did a good job, but dismantled my dining table, sectional, and part of bed frame that didn't need to be dismantled. I have to pay someone to put the sectional, now in eight peices, back together. The dining table legs were very tedious and time consuming to take off after which there was plenty of room if left on. Left a big gash in the wall leading from the basement. Said would come back and plaster and paint. Didn't say when. Don't expect them to return. Got an extra hour out of me and at the end, items just thrown in unprotected. Had to take items out and restack them in the last pod.

This was my first time using ReloPro and they were great. Jason was great with communication up until the day of the work. The crew arrived on time and ready to work. They were very quick to load all of our things into our storage container and very efficient in the way they staged & loaded everything. Our apartment was on the third floor and they didn't have any trouble navigating the larger pieces down the stairs. They were careful with all items and made sure to ask questions if they didn't know. I will plan on using them again when I am ready to unload my PODS.

Had two guys come out for two hours to load a POD for me. They were great. They were hard workers and completed the job on time. They packed the POD beautifully and I will be using them again to unpack the POD at my new house.
