Extremely disappointing service. Movers showed up late & without equipment, although we were told they would arrive prepared. The primary mover was kind & competent enough, despite executing the job in flip-flops, but the second mover was a young kid & did not seem to know what he was doing.
The job was to move belongings out of an apartment & into a PODS container. The second mover quit the job halfway through after moving one single item into the PODS container, because it was too hot. This lead to me having to assist the primary mover with the rest of the move, given there was a deadline the PODS container needed to be filled up by.
While the main mover repeatedly claimed to know how to properly fill a PODS container with our belongings, this was entirely not the case. After retrieving the PODS container at our final destination in Massachusetts, the way it was packed led to numerous items being damaged or entirely broken - including a large TV, dresser, sectional couch, and several boxes.
The separate company who helped unload our POD in Mass. immediately noted how the container was improperly packed, and found it hard to believe this was a reputable company who knew what they were doing.
Lastly, once the initially scheduled time frame (3hr) was completed & the job was not finished, in order to continue they stopped what they were doing & forced me to leave a 5 star review online. This was done by the main mover calling his boss to confirm they could continue, but the boss waited to give the go-ahead until he saw my 5 star review in the online portal. This was very uncomfortable, but I felt that I had no choice except to do the review given the PODS container needed to be filled up by a certain time.
This was an incredibly stressful & painful experience overall, and on top of that I now have several broken and/or damaged items. Despite the kindness of the first mover, I can not recommend 5 Starr Moving in any capacity.
