We hired Sunrise to help us pack up our daughter’s apartment and load a POD that will take many of her belongings to the Washington, D.C. area following three years of law school in St. Louis.
We could not have been more pleased.
James and Zach arrived right on schedule and worked hard for about 2.5 hours, in which time they fully loaded the POD, taking great care of our daughter’s possessions and ensuring they “staged” and loaded everything properly. They were attentive, extremely hard working, worked well together as a two-person team and were extremely efficient. They took the job seriously, making us feel confident enough that, in the future, when we need packing, loading and/or unloading assistance, Sunrise would be the first company we’d turn to.

James was polite and friendly. He worked steadily to get the job done. Emmett, on the other hand, walked into the house unannounced through the porch door and didn’t introduce himself at all. (James finally told me who he was). Emmett worked very slowly and took very little initiative. At one point he asked if he could use my restroom and must have spent 15 minutes in there! The trailer was packed carefully but not very efficiently - smaller boxes could have been stacked on other items, for instance. The job took more than twice as long as I expected. Not sure I would use this team again, but James in particular was professional and a hard and careful worker.

Awesome company! My movers had bailed last minute and Josh and James came to the rescue the SAME DAY! They moved my entire house in just a few hours. They took apart all of the beds and assembled them in the new place. They were very polite and I could not believe how quickly they got it all done!

This is the second time I've used Sunrise Movers and they are awesome. I rented the truck, they provided the muscle. We had bad weather here in Missouri, and their communication was perfect. They were on time and confirmed their arrival time beforehand.. Very professional and respectful of my furniture. If they weren't sure of something to move, they asked. They followed me to the new location and unloaded very quickly, with a great attitude!

I cannot fault the two young men sent to perform my move. However, they were over-matched (almost) by the heaviness of some of my items (such as a piano), and by the lack of space in the truck deployed to take all my belongings to the new address. Some important items were left behind (my washing machine, for one), causing me to plan another household move to finish the job.
Throughout, the movers maintained their composure and manners. They were respectful and wrapped my furniture carefully. They also had to move some of it in the rain. The lead of the two was upbeat and positive, even when explaining that the room in the truck was getting too full to accommodate more items. That's a hard thing to tell a customer. He also made an effort to bring on a third person to assist in the delivery, but apparently was denied by the company. As a result, the two movers worked for four additional hours, for which I had to pay overtime moving charges.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Minimize miscellaneous contents by having loose items properly boxed and labeled. Disassemble any bed frames or difficult items to get through door ways to save time and money on your move. Give the movers direction on where you want certain items.
