River City Moving & Storage picked up my job when I was rejected by the initial hire a helper I selected. They were notably late but I was notified by the owner of the situation. They also provided an extra helper at no additional charge. And they finished the job in half the time. They worked really hard and did not complain about the distance of the pod nor the three flights of stairs. They where respectful of my property and asked where I wanted items placed. I would use them again.

The two men who came were very professional and efficient. They did a great job filling our PODS from top to bottom. Well worth the expense.

Unlike my first experience with another company through Hire a helper, this one with River City was quite unsatisfactory. I had two pods to be unloaded. The first one went pretty smoothly, but they claimed they could not open the second pod's door after a few attempts without exploring possible ways to get a metal clip on the bottom of the door that was hooking on to the lid of a plastic container which prevented the door from opening. Soon after they left my 85 year old husband figured out what the problem was, used his fingers to push lid out of the way to release the lid and successfully opened it. I called right away to get them to come back and finish the three hour paid job they were hired to do since there was still an hour plus left on the contract ,but they didn't show up. The manager said he was unable to contact them. The following day my husband called to follow up and after a back and forth argument the manager hung up on him. I am currently in the process of disputing the charge to claim the hour plus amount that I paid but for which I didn't receive service.

The two men who helped us came to work. Pleasant to be around and knew their jobs. It was very hot and I had to stop them them twice for a cold Gatorade and in less than a minute they were back at it. They were excellent at packing and took
precautions with our furniture.

Jason and Keith showed up in a timely manor. We quickly reviewed the job. They were packing the first of two PODs Hire A Helper was packing for us. They blew us away by packing an enormous amount of our "stuff" into today's POD, thus, alleviating any doubts that we could get the rest of our possessions into the remaining POD coming in a couple of days. They were respectful, provided packing and preparation guidance and communicated like the pro's they are. Great Job.
