Horrible moving service—stay away—
The crew showed up on time, but were inexperienced—had no idea what to do to load a freight trailer—wasted time explaining—they had trouble setting up the ramp. Showed them all that needed to be done—what furniture to move—they only wanted to load boxes—they were inefficient—didn’t load high and tight—didn’t want to load furniture. I had to keep them 2 extra hours—the did about an hour worth of work. Only loaded some furniture because I insisted—only wrapped furniture because I insisted. Money wasted—would have fired them but I had such a tight time frame—no time to find anyone else—they didn’t bring anything to drink—it was in the high 90s. I thought I could proceed with my packing while they did their job—but I ended up standing outside for 4 hours watching everything they did, and make them re-do what they didn’t do correctly. I called the owner the next day who promised an hour refund, which I never received, and said he would send an experienced crew the next day—that review is posted—started better, but horrible—no excuse for such a horrible company to be available to trusting people.

Horrible—do not use—have no regard for your personal items—treat them like trash going to the dump. I was very clear about what was to go into the Uhaul and what was to go in the freight trailer—they said they would do it—found them doing just the opposite—refused to wrap my furniture. When I told them to pack as they had been told, one of them became nasty, and deliberately loaded opposite of what I wanted. The other two were smiley and friendly, but did the same thing. I am now in my new home—don’t have my kitchen items, but have winter coats, Christmas and St Patrick decorations, but not what I need. Everything that was marked “Load last, off first” were placed at the very front of the truck—I slept on the floor for two nights until I could get my bed out. As the time wore on, they got sloppy and refused to pack high and tight—had to pay for more hours for them to redo. If you choose to take a chance—prepare to watch them every single minute and help load—the worst moving experience ever! I wasted so much money that I didn’t have—I hope they are dropped from Hire-a-helper
UPDATE---IMO--avoid Hire-a-Helper altogether--I filed a claim per their email requirements, then they announced they wouldn't cover damage to anything loaded on a trailer. I emphasized I was dissatisfied with the service from Excellent Movers, and their policy states they would refund for poor service--they only agreed to refund if I provided documentation of repair costs to my damaged furniture.
All in all a truly horrible experience with all involved, except ABF

On time. Good guys very hard workers but they had to work extra hard and take extra time because they did not have any dollies or other moving equipment.
