My husband and I just moved to South Orange, NJ. We came from out of state and needed ASAP movers to help unload our truck. They were friendly, prompt and efficient. Hire A Helper was a great resource for my move. I decided to move my stuff with a UHaul but when my friend last minute couldn't make the trip with me anymore I knew I would need help moving my stuff into my new apartment. The night before my move, at 11 pm, I used Hire A Helper to book two people to move my stuff and the next morning i received a confirmation very early. My movers had to change the arrival time but for such a last minute booking, that was no way problem. The two guys showed up and swiftly moved my stuff in and assembled my bed frame. This was a great service and really saved me from having to do it myself. It's great how this site shows you your different options and prices and reviews. I even went with a slightly more expensive company because their reviews were great and had 0 no shows. All in all it was a giant help and moving my stuff myself with the Uhaul plus hiring this company for an hour saved me a lot of money since I didn't have to hire movers.

I had utilized the services of Asap Moving Labor Company to move from my apartment in Yonkers to a home in Bronx. Mr. Eric was excellent in scheduling, timing and was constantly in touch with me on the phone through the day and afterwards to ensure that everything went well. The three excellent people who did the Job were David, Benny and Melvin. All of them were very well mannered and behaved, cooperative and skillful. On my request and to help me complete the move, they even extended to stay back extra hours. The job was performed in an excellent and outstanding manner. The packing, the beds moving, glassware, paintings – not a single item either got damaged or broke. Most importantly, all the three people- David, Benny and Melvin were very courteous and respectful and it was a pleasure dealing with them. In fact I am going to request them to do another job later this week at my new place. Very Highly recommended.

The two men, David and Lex, were excellent. Very professional. Very careful with our property and goods! They came prepared with tools. They came within the estimated time on the quote. Although they first said they'd be earlier, there was train trouble, and they texted me to let me know, which was great! They worked VERY hard, took a short break to eat a quick lunch with us. They worked very well together, spoke politely with each other, too! We would definitely use them again. This was a great service, and just what we needed on very short notice. What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Relief & professionalism. They also can expect to get more items in their POD or Pack-rat / Rental Truck than they expected. They should expect to save a bunch of money on PODS and the Amount of PODS they need to move.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
A Early arrival & communication. A day %100 dedicated to getting their job done in a efficient time with no damages or mistakes.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Make sure you have blankets! If you are renting a POD or Pack-Rat Be sure to tell them to throw 1-2 dozen blankets in the container before its delivered. Most of the time they don't even charge you. Also gather any washable blankets , sheets or towels we can use for protection... This way you don't have to break the bank on blankets. We also have started to use Boxes from Home depot. Lowes or Walmart. We can cut the boxes open and use them for TV crating, protection of Glass & Surfaces for stacking.
What types of moves have you handled?
NYC jewelry store to LA, NYC home building associations , residential moves, Las Vegas Convention Center (Santee Cosmetics), Oz mannequins + Commercial Appliance Moves. I also moved Rosie O'donnel & Michelle Rounds & many other celebs.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
New scenery & meeting cool. interesting nice people.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We watch you tube moving self help videos to stay fresh & consider new techniques to add to our skill sets. We also stretch daily & incorporate cardio into our lives to stay conditioned.
