The move started okay but we quickly realized 1 mover, Brian, was (literally) doing all the heavy lifting. He was sweating profusely and struggling with the items while the other mover Jon moved light items and assembled the truck. During the load, we had to force Brian to stop and drink some water. Additionally, I was very surprised they didn’t use the dolly for any of the boxes, which again resulted in Brian lifting each box single-handed, some of which were very heavy.

When they were unloading, Brian was sweating profusely and lifting each box up the stairs while Jon simply moved the boxes off the truck and to the front door. There were several times Jon stopped to heckle Brian into moving faster, but never to help lift a box. There are several scratches on the wall and a broken stained glass window as a result of how haphazardly the boxes were taken up the stairs. Then, Brian began to have a medical emergency, seemingly because of the stress on his body. He began to have a seizure and during it we had to tell Jon to stop yelling at him and WE called the ambulance. I don’t know what the result would have been had we not called for medical attention. Overall, this was the most stressful move and I wouldn’t book them again. I rated 2 stars because of the price and the job did get done, albeit literally almost at the expense of someone’s life.

Thank you for your feedback. Your home had very tight corners there was no way we can use the dollies to go up the stairs. We have a system where we make half way points. I’m sure Jon was carrying the boxes also to that halfway point and Brian carried the rest of the way. Your boxes had a weight of over 75 pounds each box. It is up to the customer to ensure that most boxes don’t go over the weight limit when packing items. Sometimes the movers can’t use hand trucks around tight corners or small staircases. No one alerted Jon to let him know Brian was going through physical problems on the job. Jon explained he didn’t know what was going on when he brought the last piece of furniture in. When he saw what Brian was going through he called 911 and his family to make sure his co worker had the help and support.

My family used We the States Moving yesterday. They were unprofessional, rude, and vulgar. Within the first 10 minutes of arriving, John began telling his helper to “do more work” and that he “wasn’t going to work with someone who didn’t put in the effort.” We had to ask them twice to be mindful of their language and that we had neighbors. They brought zero equipment, and there was clearly tension between these two men. I waited a day to leave this review due to the lack of safety I felt around them.

We are moving out of state, and had two days to pack up our truck. Unfortunately, the movers we booked for today (Sunday March 17, 2024) have to completely unload and reload it due to how our things were stacked inside the truck. We would ask for a partial refund, but the only contact information listed is for John.

I would not recommend We the Movers if you are in Southern California. We DO recommend to use Advanced Moving, another company located within the area. Absolute professionals, kind, and extremely helpful.

Thank you for your feedback and business. The company does apologize We did take disciplinary action with both employees. When completing an order the system will automatically send you a link to leave a review several hours after the order is completed. Your belongings for your order was all garage related items such as tools and heavy machinery. We had hand trucks and floor dollies. All items had to stay ground level because of the weight. Upon completion of the order the crew was told the truck was packed very good as nothing would fall or shift during transportation.

The movers arrived on time, were respectful and careful with our things but it seemed like they weren’t very experienced in their jobs. One needed constant attention from the leader so appeared very green. They did get everything moved in on time.

The 2 man crew arrived within the promised time window. The lead man was excellent, knew exactly what to do, worked hard and packed with precision. I would definitely recommend them if you need helpers for moving or heavy lifting.

John and Jess from “We the States Moving” were great and we would definitely recommend them. They called to let us know when they would be arriving and texted when they arrived on time. After a brief walkthrough, John explained how they would move our items. Armed with a dolly and a floor cart the two went to work and quickly had moved our entire 1-bedroom apartment into the moving truck. They were extremely courteous. We lived in a second story apartment and they were very patient with neighbors who needed the elevator during the move. In less than 2hours they were done! Fast, friendly, and professional!

Traveling is the best part of the move seeing different areas and meeting people.

Communication skills as this is just as important as any labor skills. We teach them to stack boxes properly, use moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, rope etc
