We are careful who we send into your home, around your family and to handle your property, we offer background checked helpers, checked through Hireahelper. INSURANCE through Hireahelper covers goods while being handled by our helpers up to $.60 per pound (policy must be activated by completing an inventory form). Full coverage insurance also available through Hireahelper. We'll never leave you stranded! If late we'll send extra helpers to make up time at no cost when possible. I really wanted to give more stars, mainly because prior to the move, Kurt was very helpful. Especially through a really bad start in my move back to NYC. However, when the movers finally got there, this changed my entire experience.
They showed up as they were, with no dolly or any other similar items. This by itself would not have meant less than 5 stars. But then, despite my dad and uncle packing the truck in a manner which would allow for furniture/big pieces up first, the moving guys refused to take that stuff up first, even after my dad said something, saying small stuff first. I was in my apartment to direct them, so I did not know this conversation took place until much later. I noticed only boxes were coming up. I mentioned it to one of the guys and I was told "no, only the boxes are out." The reason this matters is so that these boxes could have been laid on top of the furniture and also would have allowed me to unpack some boxes as they came up.
Instead, due to my shoebox apartment, I was left with 30 large boxes taking up so much space we had to squeeze through to get around them. They even blocked my refrigerator (because there was ultimately no place else to put the **** boxes!), which meant I could not buy food nor keep any take out cold, for a couple days.
It took me almost a week to empty boxes due to shuffling to make room in other areas. I attempted to contact Kurt, left a voicemail, and never got a response again. So disappointed and honestly, can not recommend.
