We are careful who we send into your home, around your family and to handle your property, we offer background checked helpers, checked through Hireahelper. INSURANCE through Hireahelper covers goods while being handled by our helpers up to $.60 per pound (policy must be activated by completing an inventory form). Full coverage insurance also available through Hireahelper. We'll never leave you stranded! If late we'll send extra helpers to make up time at no cost when possible. I can't give six stars so I'll have to settle for just five. Kirk and his team were outstanding every step of the way. It was a difficult move with lots of stairs and it ran much longer than expected, but that didn't phase them one bit. Professional, hard-working and respectful of the client and their property.

Promove was amazing. From start to finish, dealing with them was great. We booked about two months in advance, but just a day after we made the reservation, Kirk (the owner) called to confirm the move. He was outgoing and reassuring; we were using a POD and never having done so before, we were anxious. Kirk put our mind at ease and said that we had nothing to worry about.
On the day of the move, our POD showed up at 8:27 (for an 8:30 move) and Robert and Shawn (Sean?) from Promove showed up two minutes later. How on earth did they all get there ahead of schedule?! We'd booked Promove for three hours, but Robert and Shawn got the job done in about two hours, moving our 1+ bedroom in record time. The only complaint we had was that, perhaps, they moved too quickly; they damaged a wall in our apartment, mainly, we think, because they were going too fast and weren't as careful as they could have been.
We didn't notice the damage until Robert and Shawn had left, while we were doing a final cleaning of the apartment. We reached out to Kirk, who apologized and said that he'd come by and fix the damage. Since we'd already moved out, we put Kirk in touch with the new tenants and within a few days, the damage was repaired.
With all of the nightmare stories you hear about (and possibly experience) during an NYC move, I'm happy to report that we were very happy with Promove. And PODS!

They were great and very quick! I would note that they are not able to do assembly of furniture even though Hire A Helper allows you to request that service.
