This was, by far, the worst experience I had with HireAHelper. I have used their services twice and was completely satisfied. Third time though, the ‘Family of Movers’ company made moving a horror show. In short: they packed the truck (with a lot of grumbling and drama) but they refused to unpack it, despite me booking them for both (2 + 2 hours). Moving in up the stairs took 1.5 hours with a different company (also from HireAHelper) so I thought 2 hours for moving down the stairs is more than enough. Nope. They refused to unpack (which was, ironically, at ground level). Left me with a 24-hour rented truck full of stuff on a Saturday afternoon. Of course HireAHelper did not provide substitutes (despite their assurances). (“It’s nothing we can do. Each company have their own policies. Some guarantee to finish a job, some don’t”). I should've known ‘Family of Movers’ are shoddy when they called/texted 5 times during the last week to change the time of appointment AFTER they agreed to come at 10 am. I was accommodating them each time, meaning each time I had to call the truck company to change the pickup time. On my dime. They complained about the 2 flights of stairs for loading (no stairs for unloading) which they totally feature in the booking. They said they don't want to unload because it's hot and there are stairs. I told them than they shouldn't have accepted the job then! They knew about stairs, it’s not like I kept them secret! Besides, there are no stairs for unloading. That's when they decided my stuff doesn't fit in the truck (I already moved half of my stuff so I know with absolute certainty that whatever is left fits in the 12" truck, a 1 bedroom 750 sqf apartment, because it took the same truck to move in 2 years ago and I already moved half of it!!). I asked then to load the furniture first, because boxes and sack of clothes I can move with my car, rather have the big items in the rented truck. Anyway, I called HireAHelper, who called them, so they finally packed the truck full, after a lot of drama, as I said. But refused to unload it. At no point I have been disrespectful or raising my voice. One of the movers was very disrespectful though and gave me a lot of lip and attitude for a job that they were hired for and refused to complete.
You want some drama and attitude on your moving day? Hire these people.
But most importantly, do you want only half of the job done? Hire ‘Family of Movers’ for a half job done.

The movers were a no show. After spending $100 to rent a truck and confirming my move earlier in the week they never came. Will not be using this company or Hire a Helper again because of this unreliable service. Very disappointed.

This is my first time using this type of service and I believe we will not be using this type of service for any future properties, I'd rather hire people directly referred to us rather than an online service. I even had a tip ready for them but after they ripped a couch we decided not to. They did offer to stitch the couch but I know for a fact this type of rip will not be fixed with just a stitch. We are very disappointed in the entire experience using this service.

On moving day we contact each of our customers to make sure that everything is lined up and ready to go. We answer any last minute questions the customer may have and always call the customer again when we are headed to their job.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
A customer should prepare for moving day by first making sure that they have everything organized and ready to go. If a customer is suppose to pick up a moving truck the customer should arrive early to the place of pickup so that any issues can be handled. Also, the customer should be able to tell us what exactly they are expecting to be moved.
What types of moves have you handled?
Our company has done local, long distance, and office moves. We are a well rounded company and we really believe that we have the crew to handle any type of moving experience.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part about being movers is the customer/mover relationships we build. We value when customers pick us to do their moves and always aim for 5 star reviews. We are a friendly company who has multiple years of moving experience.
What training do you provide your crew members?
When we go through the hiring process before we allow crew members to enter customer homes we put them through training at the warehouse. We teach them the details of moving furniture and wrapping furniture so that when we enter a customers house we are prepared for anything.
