Update:
After much back and forth communication with a representative from Gold Medal Moving, they offered compensation for the damages which occurred during the move. They were apologetic and patient. I appreciate the effort which was put in to rectify part of the situation. Thank you to the staff for the compensation.
Original:
We selected Gold Medal Moving to assist with unloading our storage containers. They were selected due to it specifically stating that their movers would come equipped with a dolly, a hand truck and tools to assemble certain furniture items. The movers, although they were very nice young men, did not come equipped with any of the promised items. I had to search through my packed boxes in order to find tools so they could use them for assembly. In addition to that, one of my table lamps broke while being brought into the house. I then reached out to Gold Medal Moving to advise of this information and was told that since the movers did not go over the 4-hour moving window, they could not offer me any compensation, and that they would need to see a photo of the damaged item. Due to having a dog in the house, I was forced to dispose of the lamp prior to having an opportunity to take a photo of it. I did, however, advise the company of this and then never heard back from them. It has been over a week, and I still haven't even heard whether or not they will provide any compensation. This company is a joke. They even double booked my move and then tried to get me to move my requested time because their movers would be tied up for the originally requested timeslot. I advised I could not move the time due to having taken off of work for the move. They're inconsistent and unreliable. Use a different company. I would not recommend them to anyone. Horrible communication.
We are sorry you are unhappy with your move. You contacted us on the 5th stating your problems with the move via email. We got back to you on the 8th.
By this time you said you had thrown away the item that was broken and you had no pictures or any way of identifying it. We cannot compensate you for this item if you don't have the item or at least pictures so that we can properly file a claim.
Even though the workers didn't use a hand truck. They finished the job in the allotted time.porch moving group shows that we do not refund hrs..we would of compensated you but we didn't go over the expected time.
Anytime you want to make a claim most companies will want to at least see pictures of the broken object. I'm sorry you didn't like the service that was performed.
Also you have job protection in your contract you can communicate with porch moving group about.

I was very impressed with the two young men sent to unload the POD into the house. I explained what needed to be done, as in what would go into the garage and that the rest went into the house. If they had a question on something that could have gone either way, the didn't hesitate to ask. They arrived early and was quick to get everything unloaded. I commend them both on their work ethic. I am pleased with the whole experience and would be more than willing to use the company again. I will recommend the to others who are in need of move related help.

The two guys (unfortunately I can’t remember their names) that came to help unload our PODS were great - they helped us immensely, and even got through a frustratingly stuck door. The only reason for four stars is that we were expecting, and paid for, three helpers. Not sure what happened.
