I hired Patriot One Movers to help with moving for a 2-bedroom apartment in Claremont the first week of January, 2013. They were the least expensive outfit (just $100 for 2-hrs per laborer) and had all perfect reviews. They did not disappoint. Frank Patino was terrific -- prompt, courteous, and incredibly quick and efficient, yet careful.
Frank brings his own shrink wrap, tape, cart, and moving pads, something few other movers do. He clearly has a lot of experience with moving. Indeed, he went well beyond the call of duty, helping to quickly disassemble and then reassemble a large bedframe that wouldn't fit through the doorways, using his own tools.
They are new to hire-a-helper, so they haven't racked up a lot of reviews yet, but don't let that deter you. I strongly recommend using them if you are contemplating a move, especially anyone look for inexpensive, fast, and reliable, service in the Claremont area. These guys would be especially good for faculty, staff, and students who are moving to/from the Claremont Colleges (I am new faculty).
Frank mentioned that he also has access to discounted moving trucks, so, before you rent, it's worth giving him a call.

The movers were great! They arrived early for the job and made sure everything was perfect - exactly as I asked. I'm a worrier and they took all my directions patiently and made sure I was happy with every single placement. A friend of mine was with me and halfway through the move asked them if they'd help her with her dad's move. I'd hire them again and recommend them to friends.

Frank and his partner were great. I would definitely hire them again. It was really helpful that they had their own moving tools in case I was missing some. I also liked hearing from him in advance to confirm everything - very professional. You definitely will be making a good choice to hire him - the moving process is so stressful overall, and having great quality movers is key!
