BEST. MOVERS. EVER. Also, just really good people who made a difficult experience as good as it could possibly be! Due to the quick sale of our 3200 sf home, we had only 3 weeks to plan a complicated move that would put half of our belongings into storage and the other half into a three-story townhouse. With no time to hire a traditional full-service moving company, we booked two rental trucks and two moving teams -- one on each end -- and planned to drive the four hours between old and new cities ourselves. To find moving crews, we did lots of research but counted on reviews to give us the assurance that we'd found good, competent help. Unfortunately, though the owner of the company we hired for the load up was a professional mover, he only stopped by to assist with one heavy item. The rest of the movers who loaded our trucks were merely day laborers; only one had experience loading a truck, and he was trying to supervise the organization of two trucks at one time. The two other guys did more harm than good, throwing things onto trucks with no thought or organization. The load-in took twice as long as anticipated and they didn't even get everything onto the two trucks. We had to empty a truck in our destination city and then go back to get what was left.
Contrast that with Tony and Anessa of A move Ahead Movers. They are first and foremost PROFESSIONAL movers. They showed up with equipment, experience, and most of all, a positive and cheerful attitude to get the job done. The weather was HOT, the move was complicated, and we had what seemed like countless glitches -- a few of which could have been disastrous. But Tony and Anessa, along with Matt, their hard-working and cheerful employee, helped us accomplish it all. It would be hard to describe all the ways in which they went above and beyond what they were hired to do (jump-starting a U-Haul, moving an 800 pound safe, coming back on Father's Day morning to finish the job... you get the idea). At no time did they complain or make me feel like I was asking too much of them. At the end of the day, I was sure to save their contact info in my phone and will absolutely contact them again when it's time to move out of this rental. A Move Ahead Movers is the very definition of what a small, family-owned company should be: ethical, professional, hard-working, and devoted to exceptional customer service. Fees were totally reasonable. It was a genuine pleasure to work with them. (Tony and Anessa, if you're reading this, thank again! Also, the U-Haul roadside guy showed up and said that truck was super unsafe to drive! They got us a new one and refunded us for the entire move! #MurphysLawofMoving #yallsavedtheday)

Be prepared, follow the instructions that are given to you. And allow the couple to do the rest. And for those of you that doubt a woman can move...she can haul better than most men. I was very satisfied. They loaded, tied and strapped down everything.
You must be prepared with lots of blankets and straps or rope, simple as that.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
After booking with us you can expect a phone call from our offices just to reach out and get a feel for your unique situation. We will go over all needed supplies and firm up all the details.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Upon moving day you will receive a call from your movers within an hour of your booked arrival window. The movers will reach out just to make sure everything is still going according to plan and will give you their expected GPS arrival time. We know that nothing is more stressful than being nervous that the movers aren't gonna show up, so we like to put your mind at ease.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
If you will be hiring us to load your rental truck, trailer or portable shipping container it is imperative that you provide an adequate amount of moving blankets, plastic stretch wrap and rope to avoid serious damage to your items. The blankets can usually be rented with your truck or portable shipping container and are worth every penny. We can provide rope and plastic wrap for an additional fee or it can be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot in the moving supplies section.
What types of moves have you handled?
We have handled literally every type of move from local to long distance, from household to office/commercial. We have handled everything from medical equipment to flight simulators and we are equipped to move large items such as pianos and grand pianos.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part about being movers is that we get to help someone with literally the hardest and most stressful task of their adult life.
What training do you provide your crew members?
All of our crew leaders are required to have a minimum of 4 years professional moving experience and upon hire, undergo at least 2 weeks of training with the owner of the company (a very particular veteran mover in the industry) before being set free to operate independently. All crew members undergo the same training and we typically only hire crew members who possess at least 2 years minimum professional moving experience. We don't send rookies, period.
