The helpers were friendly, polite and professional. They wrapped all furniture items in plastic and blankets to protect. I would use them again if needed.

The movers arrived on time. They were very professional in wrapping and protecting my furniture. They moved everything I requested even though it was 100 degrees. They unpacked and placed things were I wanted. All in all it was a very good experience.

Two men arrive at old location at 8.32am on 8/25/2024 One of the men his name is David, he asked me to show them things they would move. I took both of them and showed them 2 three sitter couches, 2 two sitter couches, 2 one sitter couches 2side tables, two center tables, two beds only. I showed them my refrigerators one in Garage and one in the Kitchen, and one washer and dryer. Two dressers. One dining table and empty glasses and plate cabinet in the same dinning.
David told me that they had no problem moving them to the destination which was about three miles or three and half miles. They started wrapping the items, I approached David as he was standing up with a long rod or stick doing his wrapping, he told me that his back pains him badly to make easy on him, he uses the long stick. He proceeded, stated that they worked 15 hours the previous day and he was tired and aching.
The other gentle man with him was trying to be fast but was having cramps on his hand. I truly sympathized with them at the end and gave them ($100.00) but still wanted my job done. I engaged myself helping them throughout. I even brought one of my guys who was helping us to arrange our items to help them us. Both gentlemen went on Lunch for one hour. I took the number of the truck owner (named DAVEY) from them and called three times and he did not answer and not returned my calls One of the men told me that he knows how to remove the doors of the refrigerator but the truck owner Davey told them to leave the refrigerator there. They did not move the Washer/dryer, and Refrigerator with the help giving to them, they were sluggish in their movements very tired and owner the truck did not want to talk with me but was interested on calculating hours and how much he would take out of my credit card because he had access to it. I called owner of the truck by10.15am to report my observations and change the plan, he did not answer. At 12;25Pm he texts me that the four hours had almost expired and each additional hour will cost whatever he believed. Both me and my family felt being reaped off by the truck owner and all his method of dealing with people. I am sure, he has been doing this to people, I must not be the only one. The gentle men left my place around 9:15pm and the truck owner charged $1300.00 my credit card plus $100.00 I gave to two gentlemen in addition to $970.20 that was originally charged to my credit card. All totaling $2370.02 and my job not completed. The purpose for contacting Hire a helper was defeated.
This is a bad business and bad experience with Budget hauling LLC. Hire a helper LLC kept calming me down that somebody will call me to this regard and till now nobody has call me yet.
There was over 60 boxes, 2 84 inch TVs, and 2 55 inch TVs, plus outside furniture, a garage full of furniture and misc that was not packed and a lot more items.
We asked if we can send 2 additional movers plus an additional truck since it needed two large 26 ft trucks, he said no, he only wanted to pay for 2 movers.
The refrigerator would not fit through his Kitchen entry way with disconnecting the water line and the doors from the water line which we are normally allowed to do. If anything was to happen to the fridge as water leak etc, we would be held responsible for much more than the move was worth.
The team spent over 14 hours on this move because of how much stuff the customer had. The items the customer had was also very heavy wood, good quality furniture that had to go up and down flights of stairs. We did this without any damages caused. At the end, as anyone reasonable could imagine, backs would hurt, hands would cramp, and we busted our behinds for this customer which we only received $1,400 total for and hire helper got the rest. Anyone who has hired mover before would agree, for a 4+ bedroom house move would have been much more expensive, booked appropriately. Hire a helper recommended 4 movers for 14 hours on this move to the customer. In regards to a tip, the customer made that decision to tip, which the movers deserve it.
The customer agreed and authorized all hours worked. Hire a helper did a complete investigation of our logs and found this to accurate and true.

We were initially told that 4 movers would show. 3 actually showed up (Joe, Steven, and another newer person). Someone at Budget Hauling lied to HireAHelper after the job was done saying that a fourth person had shown up (it is unclear who is in on this fraud at Budget Hauling and/or Hire A helper). They over charged us hundreds of dollars for this ghost fourth person, and claimed that the person was in the truck and unloading at our UPack site and we just hadn't seen him. Because they never actually sent a fourth person, the move took much longer. My husband and I were on both sides throughout and we were introduced to all the movers and were with them the entire time. This is a blatant lie.
Then, they sent photos to HireAHelper to "prove" there were four movers. Two pictures were real and had the 3 movers who were there. The other was a fake picture with a fourth guy we never saw in a truck that wasn't ours with boxes that weren't ours labeled eggs. They had wiped the location data off the picture.
If you're going to blatantly lie and cheat customers, at least be a little more clever.
We have documentation showing that Budget Hauling would adjust the number of movers from 4 to 3 because only 3 people showed up the day of. Hire A Helper has not been useful at all. They claimed to call Budget Hauling and they seemed to be able to immediately respond with the fake picture. However, it's now been 3 days and they haven't responded to the clear documentation we shared. We've rejected all of their charges.
We have two little kids, and this is the last thing you want to deal with when moving across the country. Save your self the headache. DO NOT USE HIRE A HELPER OR BUDGET HAULING. It is hard to say who is in on this, but this level of dishonesty is disgusting. We will be canceling our unloading with Hire A Helper on the other side because of this terrible experience.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Boxes labeled priority level. Any and all small items to be moved down stairs to save on time the move takes. Boxes to be taped, color coded for specific rooms etc. Make sure your electronics are charged and you have all emergency items in a known location. Be ready to allow the movers access to belongings at the time they arrive so that they can get right to work without time wasted. We know you want to help, but allow the movers the space and decision making to move efficiently. Communicate before loading
