They had car trouble and were late arriving but called to let me know. The move was completed well. They took care of all items, placing stretch wrap as needed. Overall, happy with the move.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with any type of company.

1. We scheduled movers for two hours, beginning at 12 noon. We were warned that they may be “a few minutes late”. That should not mean 3 hours late.
2. We hired only two movers; three showed up and we were not warned that we were allowed to decline the 3rd helper or else we would have to pay extra for the third body.
3. We were told immediately that the crew did not get to eat food and the owner asked to get the crew food. We are not heartless, so of course we allowed them to eat. We were NOT informed, however, that we would be charged extra for the 30 minutes (I timed it) that the crew of 3 sat in their car eating food as well as another 15 minute cigarette break for a single 2 hour job.
4. They were extremely slow and instead of using the staircase directly next to the uhaul AND the apartment door, they chose to use the single, busy elevator and took at least 10 minutes per elevator trip, some trips took 20 minutes, only up 2 floors.
5. They WERE respectful of the items and property but extremely disrespectful to my disabled partner who became the 4th mover, as we were already furious with their molasses pace.
6. When the truck was empty 2 hours and 45 minutes later, we were told that we would be charged for their lunch break and cigarette breaks, making the total time worked 2 hours and 45 minutes. We disagreed politely and the owner became IRATE.
7. The head mover threatened myself and my partner to call the cops if we didn’t pay the extra money to cover his breaks, so we did, purely to encourage him off of the property.
8. The next day, he attempted to extort an extra 2 hours out of us and we had to report him to the HireHelper company to ensure we only paid the extra to pay for his lunch and cigarette breaks. During the 3 way call between the mover and HireHelper, he attempted to say we never paid the extra for the breaks and even attempted to extort the lunch/cigarette breaks TWO TIMES. If we had paid cash, it would have worked but we did not, thank goodness.
9. Do NOT trust these movers. The owner is a thief and a true scumbag.

So to this review who thinks they can lock to door on use before the bill is paid funny you speak highly of your partner what he had to say about you outside we all 3 heard him put you down I would never call my partner any that but you have a good day.

The team showed up later than originally scheduled, but made sure to update us beforehand. We had planned for 4 helpers but one had a conflict, so we only had 3. They still got everything done in the original time allotted, and Hire A Helper adjusted our bill accordingly. The movers assembled our dining table for us, but nothing else because we told them we would handle it. They were hard-working and respectful. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others. Thank you!

J & E showed up with only hours notice, stayed all day in 100 degree heat and got the job done. I can't thank them enough! Professional, reliable and honest. Not a single item broke or damaged. Very thankful to have found them.

I never received the confirmation from the company so I called the day before to confirm service which I had scheduled over a month in advance for start time 7-8am. He called me back at about 9:30pm the night before and asked for a later start time of 9am to which I agreed. He called me in the morning at 9:30am, a half hour past our new start time, to ask for a 10am start time to which I agreed. They showed up and started at 10:35am. The crew leader had hurt himself the day before so he had a replacement, the two guys did well, I have no complaints about the work done. We had prepaid for 2 hours of labor, and at 12:45 they were finishing up which is 10 minutes past what we’d paid for. The crew leader said it was no big deal, that we’d just need to add 30 minutes when the invoice comes through. I was slightly annoyed at that because they only performed 12 minutes of extra work (they left at 12:47), AND showed up late for the two reschedulings. When the invoice came through I noticed that I could pay extra in 15 minute increments, which is what I ended up doing. On top of this, the crew leader was pretty unprofessional the whole time, telling us stories of how previous clients from hire-a-helper have complained about him to the extent of getting removed from the website a week prior to our service. I’m frustrated with hire-a-helper for letting him keep our contract when they had deemed him unworthy of being on the website any further prior to our work date.

First off, I requested they be there at 9am. When I called you at 945 I was told don't worry, they have an hour to make it. (I wish my bosses allowed that kind of leeway when I was working) They finally arrived 2 hours late, putting our whole moving schedule behind. Several important items were left behind while other trivial things that could have been left weren't. The guys were nice and polite, but would not take direction as to what needed to be loaded when. I will not use your services again.
