Preston and Isaiah were wonderful! They were on time, friendly, conscientious, careful with my things, and very patient (with me??). I’ve moved many times and this is the best experience I’ve ever had. I wish I was moving locally—I would invite them back to unload my Pod at my new home! Thank you Isaiah and Preston, and Speed Loaders!

Very accommodating, my container was late for almost 1 hour so I ask them if they can grab breakfast first so that my time doesn’t start yet and they did. Very friendly and fast. I am very satisfied! Thank you again!

The movers were friendly but not professional. I waited to write this review until our things arrived. Despite spending over $1500 on packing supplies and helping with moving boxes, the process was much slower compared to when I hired professional movers a few years ago. Additionally, upon arrival, half of the boxes had shifted during the drive, resulting in many of our furniture pieces getting scratched. Our expensive dining room set was broken, we lost a desk and an office chair, and all my bookcases have major scratches. This move was a last-minute arrangement due to being scammed by another moving company, and it ended up costing us more and requiring the replacement of many items. I won't make a hasty decision like this again.

Cost break down for reference: $4,493 for the trailer, $1,700 for help, $1,500 packing supplies

This “review” is written to give a full accounting of our move experience, and the companies involved. Only Speed Loaders is getting a 1 star review.

We reached out to U-pack in early May to reserve a trailer for our move. Based on our conversation, previous move data, and my inventory, it was determined we would need 23’ of trailer space.

U-Pack recommended Hire A Helper to secured moving men for loading and unloading. Based on the recommendation of Hire A Helper we hired Speed Loaders for the loading in California and Moving Out LLC for the unloading in Delaware.

The trailer was dropped off by AFB/U-Pack on Friday June 21st as promised.

Speed Loaders arrived promptly Monday morning June 24th to start the load. We already had in our possession many moving blankets but purchased more at the mover’s request. We had 24 half size blankets and 12 full sized blankets. We bought an additional 25 full blankets from U-Haul.

Movers wrapped up most of the furniture pieces with a combination of cardboard, blankets, and plastic wrap.

As suggested by Hire A Helper, 5 hours were scheduled for loading the trailer. We asked the mover more than once if they were going to have enough room and finish on time. They assured us they would. This eventually turned into, will they have enough room as the 5 hours had already passed. Again, we were assured by the lead that they would. At hour 10, the movers informed me that we did not have enough room on the truck…

The next morning, rather than hitting the road for our new home, we went to U-Haul and rented two U-Boxes to move the rest of our belongings. The staff at U-Haul was amazing. They go us a truck and 2-UBoxes that we used to load our remaining possessions. These boxes were then shipped across country. Unfortunately, due to the last-minute nature of this, the boxes were not delivered to our new home until a week after the trailer. Additionally, this added almost $4,000 to our moving costs.

To this point I would like to digress a little. In the past when I have moved, a representative from the moving company would come to my house, assess all my belongings and schedule the truck size, number of boxes, number of movers, load/unload time etc. This is what moving companies do. I do not. I did my best estimate of our belongings and then added more just to be safe. I spent the next almost two weeks blaming myself for not having enough space on the truck.

The AFB trailer was delivered as promised on July 9th and we had movers come to unload on July 10.

Moving Out LLC movers arrived promptly. Unfortunately, they were unable to open the trailer. AFB sent out a vendor to help but, in the end, it took over 3 hours (which we were paying the movers for) and they had to use shear force.

Once the trailer was opened you could see the problem. The entire load had shifted during transit and was pressing against the door. When the bulkhead was removed, our belongings started falling out of the trailer.

Boxes were crushed, furniture was destroyed, the truck was packed so badly. All of our belongings could have easily fit on the trailer with room to spare if the movers had packed it correctly.

As a result, the move cost us thousands of dollars more and we lost many items due to extreme damage.

Speed Loaders did the absolute worst job of moving our belongs that I have ever experienced and I would definitely not recommend them. Below are some of the issues:

- We had two very large (7’x4’) solid oak bookcases. They piled so much stuff on those book cases that they broke apart.
- We had large wood and metal shelving units that we asked them to take apart. Instead, they put them in the trailer fully assembled and stacked boxes etc on the shelves. There was so much wasted open space, things fell off the shelves, and the shelves became warped in the process.
- Pantry boxes were just shoved in any crevice in any direction and the cork for a bottle of balsamic vinegar came out and spilled over several other boxes. This would not have been a problem if the boxes were loaded top side up.
- Couch ripped
- Ratan patio furniture falling apart
- Plastic bins crushed under heavy boxes
- Dining room furniture scratch and gouged

Moving Out LLC did an amazing job. They did everything in their power to protect our belongings while removing them from the trailer.

The number of times we have moved falls in the double digits. The number of times we have used professional movers is about 10. In all my moves (this is our third cross county move) I have never had a more traumatic experience.

No one is perfect and no move happens without some damage, however, I was appalled at the amount of damage caused to my belongings. The heartache will be with me for years.

The crew from Speed Loaders did a good job. We had a crew of 3 for our job. They came right in and determined exactly what was needed. They worked well together as a team and stayed on task. They were able to complete the job within the timeframe that was agreed upon. I would recommend them.
