I'll preface this with saying that the service wasn't horrible as the "1 star" rating defaults to saying...
TLDR: I was served a bait and switch as it relates to what I was told I would pay vs. what I actually had to pay. The company hid behind "Hire A Helper" and would refuse to do anything to help out with the situation leaving me on the hook for a cost I wouldn't have had to pay if I went elsewhere initially..
My frustrations were with Rayshon Jones who coordinated the work. I had a POD that was delayed causing the movers to have to go to another job in the neighborhood. I was charged a >$200 cancellation fee for the mixup, but Ray assured me that if I booked the movers to come back later that day, he would only charge for one hour when we expected it to take 2. They were already a little more expensive because I'm out in the suburbs and they're coming from the city.
Fast forward to the movers coming back and moving in the POD -- I was charged two hours, Ray said he told me to call him directly, I didn't have any of his contact info as he communicated with me through Hire A Helper and told me that I needed to talk to him directly to "work around" Hire A Helper to pay him direct so he wouldn't have to pay the Hire A Helper fees, but now that I went through them, he "couldn't do anything about it". A word of advice as a business owner, telling a customer "there isn't anything I can do about it" to a frustrated customer might be the worst thing you can say to them... Customers know that isn't true.
The bottom line is, in a service industry, to say you can't do anything to help a customer in this situation is a flat out lie and the opposite of the correct approach. I'm glad the movers were pleasant to work with, because the rest of the experience was poor and forced this review.

Excellent assistance in wirk that I could not.. highly recommended even they were three hours late due to accident blocking highway. Completed on time.

Ray and Gregg were the movers that packed our belongings in the pod. They arrived as expected, pretty punctual. I give Ray the credit for getting the work done. Gregg had mentioned to us that he had picked up the job on Craig's List, which indicated to us that he was not a regular and we could tell. They were both nice and courteous. Gregg had to be instructed on what to do, which delayed progress. Like I said they were both fine, but Ray was the man.
