Very efficient and conscientious. Excellent use of space in the POD. The guys were very professional and represent your company well. Will definitely request Joshua and Junior for help with the rest of our move.

This team is everything you would want and more. They came on-time (after calling to let us know they were on the way). So professional and so helpful (even repairing a piece of furniture that was coming loose and helping me with a shipping damage problem on my wine fridge).
Everything was moved with care and professionalism. No wall dings, no scuff marks. And smiles the whole time.
We have all had challenges with service businesses. Morris Moving demonstrated that movers can differentiate - based on doing everything right. I'm keeping their card for my next move.
It was an absolute pleasure helping your family, and we appreciate your business!

Originally, the move was scheduled for 10am, 2 helpers for 3 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment. When Morris Moving (MM) called to confirm, they also asked to reschedule to an earlier time. Unfortunately, I could not, so we changed the time to 2pm. I have medical issues and asked them to wear masks. MM assured me this was no problem.
Bottom Line: While there were strong positives, they were overrun by small and not-so-small negatives. I wouldn't hire them again unfortunately. If you pack things in big boxes and don't have health issues, maybe you'll have a better experience. This is a detailed review of all the high and low points. I hope it's helpful.
The Good:
- The helpers, J. and A., arrived on time wearing company shirts (looking professional) and with with masks as requested
- Both helpers were careful with my furniture (more than the furniture store delivery folks -- this was excellent)
- So far, I haven't found any damage to any of my things! Really happy about that.
- A. was very kind the whole time
The Bad:
- Both helpers said they were already tired when they arrived, because the previous move was exhausting (I think this is part of why they took longer on my move, and it's frustrating when originally I asked for a morning time that might have avoided this)
- I had to remind J. to wear his mask at least 6 times. At the end of the move, J. asked about my medical condition. I felt uncomfortable but shared some information with him (I try to be open and honest within reason if people ask). He listened with a skeptical look on his face. Then he said something to the effect of, I was lucky it was a cool day or he would've refused to wear a mask...as though he thought my medical risks were not worth the discomfort. (I wear a mask all the time, even on hot days, so I do sympathize, but we're talking life-altering medical risks for me...and MM assured me it was no problem. If that's not true, they shouldn't have taken the job)
- I asked them to also empty a small storage area. They said they did, but later I found they left several gallons of water behind. I'll have to do this myself now.
- I had to explicitly tell them not to place large furniture in front of other people's apartment doors. That blew my mind..... what if someone had opened the door and fallen over the furniture? It's dangerous and rude to my neighbors.
- J. constantly complained about the amount of things I had, and how I had packed them (too many small boxes in his opinion). I have a lot of hobbies, and love to read, so I thought I was doing them a favor by packing small boxes of heavy books/etc that wouldn't break their backs...but apparently not. I didn't appreciate the constant criticism/commentary.
- J. answered strangers' questions about me (was I moving in or out, etc), which made me extremely uncomfortable. I'm a private person, and didn't want random people to know my business. I didn't speak up about it, because i was so shocked and tired. Maybe if I did, it wouldn't have happened again :(
- Hire a Helper sent me a text at the end of my window (that meant they were 4 hrs in...). The text told me to discuss extra time with the helpers. J. told me not to worry about it (which I thought meant they wouldn't nickel and dime me), but it would probably be 30 more mins. At the end, he called Hire a Helper and told them we had to change the time to 4 hrs and 45 mins (without discussing that with me first).... What could I say at that point. They had been working that long (including driving time in between locations). But was it all my fault they had taken so long? I didn't think so - they came already tired and took a long time to do every step. Exhausted and more than ready for them to go, I just paid it.
The Josh and Austin completed a moved that was booked for 4 hours and 15 minutes in 4 hours and 30 minutes using an unreserved elevator while sharing it with the entire building. The nice thing is that our crew did a great job and all your furniture and personal items arrived in great condition. Our crew did mention they felt uncomfortable with how you talked to them and that they removed their mask in the elevator and hallways before returning to your apartment, and you would meet them or approach them and request they put them on before they had a chance to, or you would walk out to the truck and ask them to put their mask on while they are outside. These guys have a hard job and do their best to please each and every customer, but sometimes people have unrealistic expectations. We always encourage our customers to call during the move if there’s something we can do to make their move smoother, but we received no such call from you. Our crew worked hard and tried to make you feel as comfortable as possible despite the uncomfortable situation.
Thanks again for your business.
