Relocation with Helpful Movers
After 7 years in business, our goal at Helpful Movers has always been to make your move as stress free as it can be, all of our crews are courteous, polite, and helpful with anything needing to be done. We always treat your items with the utmost care just like they were our own. We disassemble/reassemble furniture except reassembly of cribs and bunkbeds due to safety. Unfortunately they were not great movers. They damaged our front door without telling us, they left some furniture behind that we asked them to prioritize, and they tried to leave 30 minutes early when there was still work to be done. One was a nice guy but the other (the lead guy) was surly and unpleasant. It was an unfortunate experience.

On time but not professional movers. Unprofessional appearance. I only used 1 of my 3 hours and they weren’t willing to refund me for 1 hour.
I realize your actually upset about the no refund of the hour because we got your move done in 30 minutes, however everyone who books through HireAHelper is told about the refund policy in writing. I don't feel it was necessary to put down the guys doing the move to get back at us. This same crew has received over 30 5 star reviews on here so them being unprofessional in appearance is doubtful but we will speak to the crew about it just in case. Have a wonderful day.

The two young men that moved our very heavy belongings into a pod were superb. They were right on time, introduced themselves, did a walk through, and got to working! They worked nonstop until they packed all they felt comfortable packing. They went the extra mile with tasks such as disassembling our table to make more room in the pod. They were courteous and respectful of our belongings and I would definitely hire them again.

Movers were couple of hours early and started moving boxes right away. They did a good job moving everything for a couple of hours. Towards the end of 2nd hour, one of the guys said they're not going to wait around and move more things if we're packing them right now as they had to leave for another move, which was absurd because I'd booked their services for 4 hours. They left after 2 hours without moving any more items and made me pay for 4 hours.

I booked Helpful Movers in early May for an early June moving job. A few days before the move date I called their number to confirm that everything was a go. Someone said they would call me back in 30 minutes. They never did. The next day I called and left a message. No response. The next day I left another message and also contacted Hire a Helper. They tried to contact Helpful Movers and got no response. I also left a text message the night before asking them to confirm. No response. By this point, we started making backup plans in case they didn’t show up the next day.
They did show up with no apology whatsoever for not acknowledging my messages. Maybe they thought I was just worrying too much, but I would think that most people would want to reconfirm something that significant a day or two in advance. We were moving out of state, so it wasn’t as if we had a lot of leeway in our plans.
The moving guys were very nice and did a good job. But I could never recommend a company that doesn’t have the courtesy to acknowledge a request for confirmation.
After carefully reviewing our records, we spoke to you on June 7th to confirm your move on the 9th. We then received a voicemail on the 8th from you in the afternoon again regarding your move on the 9th. I apologize we were busy but we then did give you a call on the 9th at 8:26am to once again reconfirm your move for that day scheduled at 1pm. This is a very busy time of year and we unfortunately can not always return calls as we are doing anywhere from 8-12 jobs a day but we always do give all of our customers a call back as soon as we can. I'm sorry that we couldn't get back to you each day that you felt was needed. I'm glad our movers did a great job and all worries were then taken care of. Just as a side note, since your aware of the reviews here I would venture to guess you never saw any about us not showing up for a customer? We will work on our phone service more going forward.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
We will give you a call as soon as possible to get all of the details for your move confirmed and also go through your move with you to discuss any additional information that may happen for your move. Also we will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding your move.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Once we arrive onsite we will do a brief walk through and then we will get started by prepping any furniture for loading and proceed to loading your Pod, Truck or Trailer.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The best way to prepare for your move is always organization, having walkways cleared for the movers so as not to trip over anything. If we are unloading a great time saver is to take post it notes label each room #1,#2 etc then as we are bring boxes in you can say that goes to room # this makes it much easier for you and saves you time and money!
What types of moves have you handled?
We have handled every move there is, we do in-state, residential, commercial, industrial, out of state, in home, remodels, we also do staging as well!
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
By far we love doing everything we can to take the stress out of your move, we know moving is a very stressful thing to do, so we want to do everything we can to make whatever part we are taking in it to be stress free.
What training do you provide your crew members?
All of our employees go through training on jobs as an extra crew member to learn everything they need to know before being sent out. It is imperative that they learn how to handle your belongings properly before they are put on as a full time member of our company.
