I contacted Hire a Helper, via the internet to get help unloading a moving truck. All was going well in the beginning, there were 2 movers who showed up on time, then while they were working a third moving guy showed up once the truck was empty, whom of which I politely told him that he was not needed, as the truck was emptied by one of the movers who carried most of the load and my husband who did help them out tremendously as well! These guys only spent an one hour to unload the truck, thanks to my husband! Also, due to contractual stipulation, I was charged and paid for 2 hours of labor. Once the job was complete, one of the moving guys requested that I sign a paperwork for the completion of the job ,which I did then said “What about the Gratuity?” I told him I did not have any cash , then the other one goes “ Do you have Cash App?,” proceeding to advise on how I can download this app to my phone ( to tip them! For what!?, for doing a job they signed up to do!???) then the mover who requested my signing paperwork said “Did Hire a Helper send you a Link to close out the job? Then I said “ no,” but the job has already been paid. Then this mover said” Had I known that I could have told you to add the gratuity before closing out the order.” ( REALLY!!!) then proceeded to advise me that I needed to contact Hire a Helper so that they could make certain they are paid. ( Again, REALLY?!’) So, this guy gives me the phone number to his boss, who then got Hire a Helper on the phone to “ensure payment for the job!” What! Sooooo Rude! Never in my life have I ever until now experienced this sort of behavior and I would NEVER use them again!

The men arrived earlier than scheduled and get to work right away. Then it started raining but they keep working even though they get wet to make sure all stuffs get into my garage. Getting inside, they brought heavy boxes upstair without any complaint. The unloading was finished earlier than 2 hours that I booked, but I'm happy to pay them the full 2 hours given the effort and speed they put on the work.

The workers were customer friendly. My request was for two workers but three showed up. It took the three workers 45 minutes longer to empty the Pod than it took the two workers who emptied the storage facility and put my furniture in the Pod. Also, my paperwork said the workers would arrive after 9AM, but the first worker arrived at 8:10, the second at 8:20, and the third shortly after that.
After a little difficulty with one overstuffed chair, the workers did a nice job of maneuvering things so nothing was damaged. Overall, the workers did a good job.
