Unfortunately our experience with our unloading help was typical of so many others who have had painful moves. We had lined up help for 2 days. On both days, help fell short of our expectations. On day one, help was 2 hours late, and upon arrival, immediately warned us of another job that would limit their ability to work the 4 hours contracted for. One of the three workers was not in physically good enough shape to be trusted to move heavy items. We ended up unloading most of the trailer ourselves in the late evening.
On day 2 help showed up closer to requested time, but was one man short. This meant that we again had to help unloading trailer when we did not expect to. Additionally, one of the two men was not physically in good enough shape to be trusted with heavy items. As a result all items that were destined to be moved upstairs were left in garage. We are still in the process of finding additional help to move these items where they were intended to be.
In addition to the disappointments with regard to the actual help, the communication and problem-solving process from our contact throughout was not timely or effective enough to meet our expectations.

Edwards moving has terrible customer service. The crew was supposed to show up between 12-1pm. I called at 1:05 and the office guy told me the crew was running behind because the first customer was completely unprepared. He said he would call back with an updated arrival window. No call back. I called again at 1:30 for an update and same story. At 3:00 I called for an update and they just stopped answering. I tried two more time spaced out every 5 minutes and no answer. I had to call hire a helper to find out Edwards just wasn’t going to show up.
Hire a helper did fix everything and set us up with Express Movers of Wilmington. Express is hands down the best crew of movers I’ve hired. Save yourself the headache and pass on Edwards.

Problems:
Overall, they definitely worked hard but not smart.
Confused why they wouldn't use the dolly to move boxes and kept moving heavy boxes one at a time - I suggested they use the dolly several times to save time AND their backs, but they insisted on lifting 1 at a time. I judged that time was going to be an issue w/ their method and thus moved many of the heavy boxes and furniture pieces to the garage myself to expedite.
I was doing an out of state move, but they kept asking what else needed to go despite me prestaging and packing; continually saying "everything". Neglected several big items in the house I had to remind them of multiple times. Felt they failed to see/visualize the big picture of the complete load.
Took 2-3 phone calls during my move which I don't mind per se, but I do if I'm getting charged for an extra 45 minutes. When 1 stopped, the other would stop and wait for instructions.
Nothing was packed tightly beyond the first few items which meant once driving, nothing was secure and everything was sliding and falling. I ended up having to rent a hard to find 4 x 8 trailer in the final hr (which isn't very big) for the handful of items they couldn't fit. Could've better maximized space. The last third of the move items seemed thrown in w/out regard to space and protection.

The movers were an hour late outside of the 1 hour window, they called to let us know they had a flat tire and did provide a discount. Overall, they were helpful in moving but we were set back an hour.
