Simply said, WOW. Yes, you are correct about two things:

1) I was cursing. Anyone would be upset if their move started over 3 hours late and their moving coordinator stopped responding the day of. Would you like to show proof of that as well? Note that I moved on the last day of the month, since there were several move outs happening on the same day, a fine was imposed on me for delaying other residents' move out.

2) Yes, you should have canceled the job. It would have saved me all of the stress that I've endured. "Here we go" is quite an interesting phrase. Noted!

Regarding their claim that I did not have straps, this is true. HOWEVER, I am not a professional mover. I have never done a cross country move. As an inexperienced mover, one would hope that the EXPERIENCED movers would inform their client that additional support/security is needed. Had I been informed that the wood door & lock holding my items in place would not suffice, I would have purchased said straps. Furthermore, if I did not have straps, which the movers did see, then my items should have been stacked in a manner that would cause little to no damage. I've spoken with several other movers regarding the circumstance and every one of them were gobsmacked that this was not mentioned to me. Again, I am not a professional mover.

I went with your company because Hire Helper sold Step by Step Logistics as a 5 star company, which is laughable at this point, even your response does not reflect that. I tipped the movers because I AM NOT CHEAP. I always stand by doing the right thing, no matter what my experience is.

Also, you stated that I changed my review? The below review was my first and only. I spared giving you a rating after my initial experience, but definitely had to forewarn others once my items arrived damaged to Texas (from DC and not Virginia like you stated).

I'm more than sure they will be working overtime to try to get "honest" reviews in, but rest assured, in my heart of hearts I know what my experience was. That said, I hope they have learned from their SEVERAL mistakes. .

Original Review:
If you don't read any other review, READ THIS ONE;

My movers (Alex and two others) were over 3 hours late for my move. The coordinator (Vanessa) completely abandoned me the day of when I was asking for status updates. Note that they "read" the initial invoice wrong when the top of it clearly stated the correct time. The coordinator did not take the time to inform them of such.

I had a cross country move (DC to Austin). Step by Step logistics handled loading up my items. Again, movers were over 3 hours late. Although they do not provide straps for large trailer moves, they proceeded to load my items into the trailer by stacking in places that they should not have. If you are not experienced in moving, please hire people that are actually PROFESSIONAL MOVERS and will help guide you so that you are WELL INFORMED.

Also, do not use hire helper as well, as they are a middle person, and could careless about damages to your property. HIRE SOMEONE LOCAL!

I have over $5,000 in damages to furniture and personal items of great quality. Do not reserve this company. They will quote you "5 stars" but they are more align with a "-1".

This customer is lying on our company!! This is NOT the experience he had with us he changed his review and is upset and is SLANDERING our business. His review is not what happened and we have proof. We didn’t move his items to Texas we only loaded him up. We only was not at his job at the correct time because he rescheduled it with Hire Helper and the old time was STILL in the notes of his invoice made by HIRE HELPER. His helpers assumed it was for the time they saw on the invoice because we go by invoice. Bradley didn’t have ANY STRAPS OR MOVING SUPPLIES for his items when the crew arrived. We even sent out 3 people to accommodate him because of the mistake of HIRE HELPER. This is an out of state move from Virginia to Texas & he booked a trailer that would move his things for him along with other strangers belongings/ furniture. He stated that his items was the 1st to go on this trailer which would be located in the very back of the truck. The crew packed everything in the back of the truck as requested when our customers don’t provide rope, straps or anything to hold their items my team improvise and use everything you have to make your items fit and work. This was done with Bradley’s direction/supervision he took pictures of the loading after it was done tipped each one of my crewmembers $40 and said that he appreciated us coming out and helping him last minute even though his reservation was initially incorrect. He was cursing at my team when they arrived then proceeded to try and have inappropriate conversations with his helpers as the job went. It says it on the hire helper policy we don’t provide moving supplies unless you requested we do so and you will be charged for it and it will reflect on your invoice. This customer knows all of this information and more & truly doesn’t have anyone to blame with STEP BY STEP for his ignorance. He has cursed out our team for HIRE HELPERS mistake and cursed me (Vanessa) out over the phone etc. This customer is out of line and it’s other issues going here because we’re clearly confused on where we went wrong. We truly was trying to help this man. He quoted he would SUE HIRE HELPER behind them making a mistake with the time on his reservation and this was said before they job started and hire helper wasn’t even open at that time. In that moment I should have CANCELED this job, because Here we go… with this Nasty spirit/attitude (from Bradley) it was a mistake the platform made. Calm down just a minute sir I will send out 3 guys not 2 (he didn’t have to pay for a EXTRA person) to come take care of you right now and that’s how it started. The review Mr.Bradley took the time to write is filled with slander and HATE point-blank. Step By Step Does not operate like that and we have almost 1000 other reviews to prove it. This is Ridiculous And this man clearly wants to get his money back, when in all actuality, if we charged him for the work that we did, he was charged less, and he knows that he was satisfied with The load that my team did because he tipped them each $40 took pictures and was happy. He Should be leaving this nasty review underneath the company that transported his items this does not fall on STEP BY STEP.
