Incredibly polite, hard-working, young men.
Beyond just how hard they worked: they very much appeared to love their work & love helping us. Due to some confusion on my daughter's part, the men were sent away after only 1/2 hour. Mr Billy Capps called them back in and the young men were cheerful, hard-working and incredibly courteous.
Yes, l would call in Hire A Helper again. They were absolutely worth the money.

We asked for 2 movers- and we got 3 young men who were ready willing and totally capable. They were extremely friendly and careful with our items. Super impressive! Thank you!

They were on time and worked hard but I would Not use them again. There were multiple items that were scratched, a headboard with a dirt/oil stain on it and a chair with a broken leg that was pushed back in the hole. Also there were instructions to put some items in the garage and nothing made it to the garage. Nothing against the two guys, they seemed nice but having that many things damaged is not ok.

They showed up at the very end of the arrival window. They were not very efficient. At times only one of them was working. Because they dragged out the job, the forecasted rain came. Instead of moving furniture inside (bringing things down from upstairs, etc). They sat in the truck during the rain. What should’ve been a 2 hour job ended up taking closer to 4 hours.
They were very nice and friendly, but when I’m paying by the hour I am looking for someone who gets the job done.

I will NEVER use Smart Move again and I suggest you don't either. First of all, they showed up 2 hours after my appointment window in the wrong size truck. The guys moving boxes moved 1 at a time - I could carry more than they were doing. They didn't come prepared, needed me to provide water for them. Needless to say, between not moving efficiently and having a truck smaller than it should have been, the move took much longer than it should have and you pay by the hour. Then, as the truck was pulling away from my building, my belongings started to fall off the back of the truck because they did not close the door of the truck. Very careless. I then noticed that they had to take the handles off my refrigerator to move it, but did not put them back on! They left that for me to do on my own. For the last hour, 1 of the 4 guys I was paying for just left. If you care about the stuff you own, and the time you are paying for, I would not hire Smart Move.

When your project managing your families move the first thing you need is a reliable and trustworthy moving company. And if that’s what you’re looking for you found it.
The movers showed up within the time window promised. They worked nonstop for the length of the move.
Movers are human they need to drink water take a break once in a while. It was 94° and these guys took 1 15minute break max. I should’ve tipped them double.
Advice, When you’re speaking to the representative and they quote a certain amount of hours based on the size of your move, go with that. If you request to shave an hour off you’ll likely need to add it back later.
I’ve project manage for a living and had a team of service techs. The moving team moved very efficiently. They needed every minute of the time allocated.
Other companies I’ve seen are not reliable these guys are. What else can you ask for.

They took advantage of a single mom by thinking they could carry one box at a time just because there were a few damaged boxes at the opening after I told them I had 2 extra dollies they could use and they brought 2 dollies and then told me it would be another $180 for the next hour. After trying to call office upset I was hung up on after I told them I was pissed off and asked for corporate number. They said they would call back and never did. When I called the second time he told me that they were not going to tolerate anyone speaking that way. I apologized and explained myself and he told me he didn't want an apology and was hung up on again. Said he would call the guy in charge which he never even gave me his name. But I have his name from caller ID Marlon Shepard. Don't get me wrong the boys were very polite except for the crew leader and if they were directed properly I feel like this would not have happened. They were also 10 minutes late and left 10 mins early laughing in parking lot as it started raining and my stuff sitting outside. They knew in advance I had a 26 foot truck and needed a piano unloaded. They wasted 30-40 mins of my time and not doing what I requested, which was move boxes with a dolly. I would not recommend there services at all. Very sad my first day in Nashville only been here a few hours. $465 for 1hr 15 mins of so called work.
