I liked these guys when they showed up and they seemed to be doing a great job loading my 15' rental truck. They were quick, efficient, seemed to have sound technique, and as far as I could tell were being careful with my stuff.
The problems started on the other end when they unloaded into the storage unit. In fairness, I had rented the wrong storage unit - it was the same approximate cubic feet as the truck, but a weird shape that made it hard to load. I think they may have also thought they were running out of time, even though I was more than willing to add another hour to the job. That doesn't explain why it seemed like a completely different crew. Items were dropped. An antique wooden hutch ended up with one door ripped off and the hinge pulled free for the other. My king mattress has two tears in the fabric because it snagged on the screws from the hutch. I'm not sure why, but they seemed ill at ease and fumble-prone for the unloading phase. I haven't been able to inspect every item without unpacking the entire unit, but I'm afraid I will find more damage to items when I do. They only used about a third of the pads I provided. The last thing that concerns me is I found shards of glass in the rental truck that weren't there when we started. I have yet to figure out where that glass came from, but I shouldn't have to sit here wondering.
