Did not show up on time,did not call after several attempts of contacting phone answered and I was told crew was sick and they were sending someone else another hour passed no one showed up called again this time was told car trouble after that I told him to forget it ,it was late and they were to show up the next day this time they were to show up at 11 o’clock at 12 o’clock I was called and told they were leaving Baton Rouge which is an hour away from my home and would be there shortly at this time my helpers with the truck were not available and they were told to come later again time was set up at 6 o’clock they did not arrive till 730 and at that time one of the movers went into the bathroom and stayed for a good 5-10 minutes after getting the things loaded and brought to my residence again mover went directly to the bathroom and stayed another five minutes both helpers were very unprofessional would not recommend your service to anyone and regret using your company

My appt was scheduled for 11am, but they did not arrive til 2:30. What should have been a 2 hour job turned into 3. Items were damaged. Loading was not efficient & space in the vehicle was not utilized effectively requiring many items to remain unloaded & another vehicle to be rented again at a later date.

The helpers showed up two hours late. The appointment was supposed to be between 9-10am arrival time, but they arrived at almost 11:30am. They called multiple times en route with several excuses as to why they were late, while saying they were not far from my house. When they arrived, they smelled like marijuana and did not properly load my POD. Nothing was tied down with ropes or straps, and they did not make good use of the space in the POD with the way they stacked the items. I will not be using this service again in the future.

Darius and Roger were on time. They called when they were about 50 minutes out to advise of their progress.
They worked very quickly, finishing the job a half hour early.

One of the worst loads I've experienced (this will be my 4th move with PODS using Hire A Helper) The crew was about an hour late getting to the house. They didn't seem to do a great job making sure everything was going to fit and not shift. We reminded them of the refrigerator 3 times and they still didn't load it. Then we went to close up the shipping container and smelled propane. They had left the tank in the grill and the knob got broken and was pumping propane into the shipping container. So we had to unload and reload half a container ourselves after they had left to remove the tank. Seems like loading crews should know not to load up propane or other flammable items.

Ultimately, the two men that showed up to help me get the job done under two hours accomplished it mostly efficiently and were very easygoing and kind.
However, I had several issues with the whole experience.
My service was scheduled for a Sunday starting at 9:00am. Callouts happen, but should not be put on the client to manage, which is essentially what happened. I spent the whole day waiting and corresponding for someone to tell me what time my appointment was postponed to and then I was following up to just get them to tell me that they were not able to accomplish the job and what time they would show up the next day. This is a failure of management. Do not waste your clients' time because you cannot find a solution in the moment. Know what you are able to accomplish with what you have and communicate it. That is management's job.
So then my appointment was postponed to the following day. Monday at 9:00am. The two guys did not show up until 10:30am. Again, I understand that situations happen, but this is starting to feel like a symptom of bad organization and complacency. I had to call them for a follow up. When they did show up, they did not have all of the tools I was told they would come prepared with. The service does not provide blankets, but I was told they would be prepared with plastic wrap (for moving) and tools, like a power drill or screwdriver. One of the men told me he did not know that he would need these so he did not bring them. My thinking is, better safe than sorry. Just show up prepared to do your job.
This company uses automated messages, but does not tie the actual service to them. They are overly reliant upon them for client correspondence and are not actually accountable to maintain the expectations set by these. If that how this company uses the messages, just get rid of them. Don't waste the clients' time.
Finally, there was no apology for the incredibly bad management of the service and lack of organizaiton. Essentially I got a shrug of the shoulders "this is how things are so deal with it" while I wasted a day of my time accommodating Movers & Helpers.
I would warn against using this service to anyone reads my review. Go with someone else.
