We requested 4 helpers for 1 PM. We recieved a call at 12:40 PM that the helpers were running late and were estimated to arrive at 1:30 PM. 3 helpers arrived at 3:30 PM and worked for 2 hours. The workers were polite and friendly. They carried some heavy items out of a third floor apartment but did some damage to the items in the process. They demonstrated little motivation to travel up and down the stairs and needed prompting to move smaller/lighter items down from the third floor. We had to call in our payment at the end of the 2 hours before they left and there was no way to ammend the bill SO WE WERE CHARGED FOR 4 HELPERS WHEN ONLY 3 SHOWED UP.

Overall, I was satisfiied with the help I received for the value. They arrived early and were both professional and incredibly hard workers. However, they had great difficulty getting a large couch out of the house and getting my refrigerator into the new house. As a result, both of those items received minor damage, as well as a couple of other pieces of furniture. Their difficulty added a full hour to the move time and cost me more money than it should have, which disturbed me much more than the damage. I'm sure the experience will make them better on their next job. Despite all of that, I would still use them again.

Trent and Cheyan helped me get my apartment loaded, and it was smooth from the start. Plenty of communication by phone before moving, and then careful arranging of boxes, mattresses, and furniture in the cargo space to make sure there was plenty of space for anything to be added.
The guys arrived right on schedule, were careful to avoid scraping the furniture when moving out, and finished earlier than expected. I'll tell you what I told them, "on a scale of 1 to 10, you guys get an 11."
If I return to the Chicago area, I would call S&L for the move-in.

The helpers did a good job. The lack of communinication about them being behind
schedule was not good.

I requested two helpers for two hours - and the guys I got were great! They helped us unload a 10' moving van, then helped us load it and unload it once more. Both of the guys were courteous and hardworking. It was the most smooth move I've ever made and I would definitely try Sutton & Lashley again.

I was very pleased with the service I received -- even before the work was done. Mr. Lashley called me the day before the move to confirm my appointment to unload my truck in Chicago. Because I made a mistake with the appointment time for the helped to load my truck (in another city), I needed to adjust my appointment time with Sutton & Lashley, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Not only did he not mind changing time on short notice, but was flexible about it. Since Chicago traffic can be a nightmare and can fluctuate depending on how much congestion there is on a particular day, I could not say for sure just when I'd be arriving. Mr. Lashley, however, didn't mind, and told me to just call him once I had arrived and he'd send over the helpers then.
The helpers themselves were good workers. It was a very hot day, they were moving my belongings to a third-floor walk-up, and they did yeoman's work.

My experience with Sutton & Lashley Movers was satisfactory. My wife and I needed help unloading our 17' U-Haul truck and moving our possessions into our 3rd floor apartment. Overall the move took longer than seemed necessary and we had to help considerably, but we couldn't have gotten it done without their help. We also booked them on very short notice, which was a major plus. Thanks!

We had a great experience with Sutton & Lashley. Paul and Kevin arrived right on time, worked very efficiently, were careful with our belongings and were very friendly and personable. We ended up going over our alloted time with them but were never made to feel that we were being an inconvience. I would definitely use them for future moves and would recommend them to a friend. We've noticed that customers who have items already packed and furniture items wrapped save time and money. However, we are more than happy to assist with any of these task the day of the move, just please book adequate time if any of these services are needed

Our favorite part is seeing customers looks of relief after we've assisted them and also knowing that our company assisted in minimizing some of the customers stress that comes along with moving
What training do you provide your crew members?
Our service providers and sub-contracted and most already have the needed skills to perform the job. I've heard that they stay updated by actual on the job experiences dealing with unexpected issues and how-to video guides available online
