My biggest problem was that they,(the company owner came as part of the crew), would not work overtime. He said he had booked another job. What good was the Hire A Helper quoting me $135 an hour overtime rate, when they would not work the overtime? I was counting on working overtime.
To be fair, what I needed moved would not have fit in one truck load. It took 2 and a 1/2 truck loads. He claimed I stopped them from packing the truck properly and that it would have all fit in one load. An obvious lie or a stupid boss because it took up half an allied van line trailer packed to the roof to move me there.
I used to be a mover and it had them load it my way because they where not loading/stacking it properly. The move was 4 miles away. I saw the time factor was against me, because he would not work OT, so I prioritized the loading of all the things I could not move myself, so I could move the rest myself after they left. I at 72 years of age & still in good shape) moved it all myself in 3 hours.
The workers were polite and I had no problem with his crew.
I would not hire them again.

The two men that worked for me were fantastic! They showed up on time, introduced themselves, were very affable, and immediately went to work. They worked constantly and moved some very heavy pieces of furniture. They were very careful with the furniture and took care not to cause any damage to the walls as they carried the furniture down a flight of steps and to the moving van. They took no breaks and constantly worked. I was very impressed with their work ethic. Would highly recommend Hire A Helper!
