Scheduled to load a truck from an apartment with pre-packed furniture and boxes first thing in the morning. Get a call the night before asking to push back star time an hour. I agree and they show up half an hour after that additional hour, with one single furniture dolly. Zero other equipment as described in the listing, and they immediately ask ME if I have moving equipment for them to use. Needing to keep a deadline for the day, I join in because things are not starting at a good speed and they are clearly not going to make it in the pre-purchased time block at this rate. The head guy was almost immediately sandbagging, perhaps upset that I too joined in to help move boxes and things in some shopping carts that I had located in the building, a theme he kept all day. His partner was also visibility frustrated by the excessive time wasting, like with unstacking and re-stacking of boxes to get through close doorways before checking if they fit (often would if his partner insisted on checking), and him wanting to repeatedly "repack the truck better", or trying to go back to use the slow service elevator needlessly and unexplainably. He also tried to balance a larger dresser vertically on one single leg, which broke (to which his partner said "come on, you know not to do that"). Didn't make any mention of time over the planned amount until (slowly) finishing up nearly 3 hours beyond what was estimated and paid for. Then the head guy got oddly insistent I pay with Zelle or Cashapp, even suddenly standing up taller and getting between the truck's exit and myself, likely to avoid owing for damages caused earlier, or perhaps to pocket the difference from Hireahelper's fee. Whatever his motivation, finishing up nearly 4 hours later than originally planned, I was not happy about the experience. Felt like I was being scammed for additional time by the head guy because he knew we were in a bind to keep moving out that day. Stand up for yourself if asked to pay differently at the end too- you are surrendering your rights for making any claims if you don't finalize the transaction as originally hired. Other movers got it done in the same originally purchased time, so Affix Movers were definitely the outlier with the amount of time needed for our stuff. Truck was packed super sloppily too, and without using any of the tiedown equipment I provided, or at least until the very end when I tried to add some myself. Only some respect shown for boxes and little for fragile items, so I would not recommend.

1. Declutter and Downsize Sort through belongings decide what to keep, donate, or discard to minimize unnecessary items. Sell or donate, having a garage sale or donating usable items to charity. Pack Smart Label boxes clearly Mark the contents and the room where the box belongs. Pack an essentials box set aside a box with important items like toiletries, medications, snacks, a change of clothes, and phone chargers for easy access. Disassemble furniture If possible, they should take apart large furniture
