Hire a Helper is the only way to go when selecting your movers. They review and vet all the service providers so it saves you time from having to research them all. We decided to select Samuel Services and my wife and I couldn't be happier. They were 10 minutes early and worked non-stop for the 2 hours we hired them. We had a shipping container to store all our stuff and both men, Wualter and Jorge, were very professional, courteous, and extremely hard working individuals. My wife and I couldn't believe they had a plan and system in mind on how they were going to store all our stuff into an 8'x16' container and they did it. We were very impressed with both Wualter and Jorge, Samuel Servies, and Hire A Helper with our move from Maryland to California. They really took a way all our stress that comes with a big move like that. You will not regret hiring Samuel Services!

I am moving during the COVID-19 Pandemic and both guys showed up with no masks, no gloves, and neither of them washed their hands before they started. One of them kept using my bathroom without asking.
I will take the blame for being overwhelmed and not thoroughly reading and being aware that I had to provide blankets, however, Samuel Services called me twice to confirm my service. Not once was it mentioned that I needed blankets, tape and rope. Showed up on time, 2 guys and one that did not speak English at all. We walked around the house and I showed him all of the furniture that needed to be loaded. Most of it I had staged myself so it would be easy to just take out and put in the PODs. However, they re-staged everything and my wood furniture and mattresses sat in the garage or outside in the driveway for hours. They seemed to move furniture from one place to another and wasted a lot of time to me. We had to go out and get blankets, tape and rope before he could load the furniture which also added extra time. I spent an additional $30 on tape, $10 on rope, he charged me $30 for blankets, and I provided 12 blankets! He made comments about the rope that I purchased at U-Haul even though it is used for tying down furniture. All of this could have been avoided had he told me he needed all of this before he arrived. I also would expect that the furniture would be stood upright, vertically, to fit the most in the POD since when I used PODS.com calculator, everything fit, however, they loaded the dressers first and put everything horizontal which took up way too much space. I had only scheduled 3 hours, gross underestimation on my part, and after 3 hours, they left to go to another job and had to return for another 3 hours. Again, most of my furniture sat outside on the sidewalk, in the driveway, or in the garage until I got impatient and started to load items myself. They seemed to have no idea how to pack items correctly. I often had to intervene and it was not well received. After many hours, he told me that everything would not fit and while they were gone to another job I went and got a 15' U-Haul to store the remaining items. They moved all of the wooden chairs to the street and then went into the house to disassemble the table....meanwhile my chairs were unattended outside. Since I am moving during a pandemic, having furniture outside with people constantly walking by was making me uncomfortable. I had to have him rearrange the chairs in the U-Haul because he left very little room to put my personal items that I was taking with me. His helper, which he referred to as his "friend" seemed to be clueless and he spent the entire day explaining what to do and how to do it to him. Whenever I addressed the "friend", he had no clue as to what I was saying. So an additional three hours and more money for me. We started at 8 am and didn't finish until 6 pm and I was totally unhappy with how he packed everything. There was a huge space in one POD and I witnessed him and the "friend" shoving a mattress in the other. Pushing it against the boxes, some of them are cleared marked "fragile". I have relocated to another state and I haven't unloaded the U-Haul or received the PODS yet. I am afraid that most of my furniture has been ruined by his lack of properly packing the furniture to keep it from moving around.
Not happy with his service and I would never recommend him or use him again.

Very uneventful unload as they weren't too talkative, but that's completely fine by me. They worked quick and were careful not to damage my items.
