Relocation with Mighty Mike's Moving

We provide efficient and safe moving labor. Disassembly and assembly of furnishings is always at the discretion of the movers. Packing/Unpacking/Loading/Unloading Any supplies requested will be at an additional cost to the shipper. Heavy pianos and safes over 400# will be an additional $125 each.

I’ve hired Mike at least 5 times. He always communicates with me before the move. Never any complaining or excuses with Mike and he is always careful with my home and furnishings.

They arrived on time and were pleasant and professional. They removed shoes while inside and promptly did the simple move of a loveseat from the first floor of my townhome to the attached garage. I also appreciated that they negotiated a lower price given the time and effort involved was considerably less than expected.

We’re almost positive the two men who came out to move our stuff were on drugs. They were slow, inexperienced, and unprofessional, and it took them 3 hours to only fill our moving truck ¼ of the way full. They left our house smelling like cigarettes, they left behind cigarette butts on our sidewalk, and they spent more time taking smoke breaks than working. This was an awful experience.

Mover's response:

The movers said they worked 4.5 hrs, but since you called Hire-a-helper to complain about excessive breaks, I reduced the hours worked to 4. It is clear that your 2 scheduled hrs was not sufficient, but the crew worked hard to get your stuff out of the basement and loaded. I also offered $50 off your piano move. Sorry that I couldn't be there to help.

Overall, really disappointed with the lack of professionalism, timeliness, and communication. Our move was scheduled a month ahead of time, yet the crew wasn’t established until the morning of the move, which was set at 8-9 AM on a Sunday. I called and spoke with Mike at 8:45 and he was pretty immature and obnoxious, while saying he wasn’t sure he’d have a crew coming or not. He got ahold of a couple guys, who ended up showing up, one of them at 10 and the other at 11. For the life of me, I do not understand how a crew was not established ahead of time. Bad business move and caused us unnecessary stress during an already stressful time. The crew did an okay job, albeit slow. Overall, not happy spending so much money and being totally prepared while the professional moving company seemed like they didn’t know how to run their business.

Daniel, I feel I was realistic about the situation on Sunday morning during our conversation. I communicated when the crew was confirmed. I didn't know that it would take over an hour for one of them to arrive. When I spoke with you after the job was completed, you said they did for you what you needed them to. One of the crew members said he wasn't going because it was his birthday the day before, I had to find his replacement while working another job. I was willing to do yours also, but you said that wouldn't work. This is what I do well, so I'm certain you would have been satisfied if I had done your job also.
