Relocation with JFK Moving Company

Established in 2017. JFK Moving is one of the best moving companies in Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire, and Orange County. JFK Moving's mission is simple: to provide high-quality services in a timely manner. Our team caters to each project's specific needs to ensure excellence. It all started when a limo driver was tired of driving and having high blood pressure due to the stress of driving a limo. The Doctors told him that he needed to do a more physical job to save his body. With a hand-drawn logo, advertisement in a local Craiglist ad, and advertising fund stashed in a ceramic dish, the endeavor was never expected to be more than a local moving company. Since opening our doors, we’ve been committed to providing service of the highest quality, paying particular attention to working efficiently while keeping the lines of communication with our clients clear and concise. Our mission at JFK Moving is simple: to provide high-quality services in a timely manner. Our team caters to each project’s specific needs to ensure excellence. This was just a bad experience all together, not to mention the owner did not make one attempt to call me personally to work things out. JFK Moving completely took advantage of my wife and our move. What was supposed to be a 4-5 hour job took them 14 hours? not exaggerated. Btw, Quit telling everyone "this is the sort of job that takes 4 guys, 4-6 hours and our truck". This line doesn't work with every scenario, but you made sure it worked with ours. We chose JFK for their rating, this was a mistake! It started with their truck being to big to fit down our driveway/access rd. at 945AM that morning so they ordered another truck (that they charged us for). During that 4 hour wait that we paid for time as well, the movers start padding and plastic wrapping, something i already did 80% of and not to mention my wife and i spent the previous 4 days running loads ourselves filling a 3 car garage to the new home (less than 2 miles away) there was nothing left but bulky furniture and heavy stuff, which is why we hired them. At 1145AM they told my wife "they were trying to order a smaller truck". So they ordered truck, this was $140 extra...Smaller truck arrived at 2PM at old home to load, they finally arrived at 3:19pm to new house with the first load...so let's recap here - 945am to 319pm with the house 2 miles apart and 2 movers. During the FIRST unload one of the drivers make the statement to me "He is spent, wore out from stairs and not sure how much more he can do"...again, this is the first load! They other mover admits to me they would had been done and gone if the 20ft truck (i ordered) was able to be used. So...at 709pm we are told the boss has to send another guy to help finish the job, because the other guy "can't go on anymore".. freaking nightmare! so it took from 319pm to 709pm just to get first run unloaded and back to old house...in a small truck. what in the world is going on here? Besides a lot of sitting around in the moving truck until help arrived while WE are on the clock. Dollars down the drain... At 9:54pm relief guy and SECOND load arrive at new home. What adds insult to injury is that guy that can't work anymore is following them around, laughing and cutting up with new guy that arrived. I'm laid up with a broken ankle from night before, its 10 at night and they still have grab a few more things from our old house...My wife's give out and totally exhausted, F'n ridiculous! I'm a very sensible person and i work in the field of customer service. I totally understand moving is hard as i used to do this when i was younger myself, i don't doubt they were tired. Trust me, my wife and i had been doing it for 4 days prior. This was not a 14 hour job, we did at least 60% of the move and i told Adam this before we hired them. Again, he insisted i needed 20ft truck and 4 guys, plus plus hours etc. Seriously, again, just stop it. I told Adam my wife and I were going to do runs (9 to be exact) ourselves so that these guys had more than enough time to move in 4-5 hours! What happened here was simply taking advantage and milking a clock. They did tell my wife they knocked off a couple hours, but $1,700 to move 2 miles with less that what would had been a 20ft truck? We moved from Ventura Ca, to Lake Arrowhead 1 year ago with a Uhaul truck i provided and the total cost was under $1,400 and that was a WHOLE HOUSE. These guys had maybe one 20ft truck load. So since we we are not crappy people, my wife still tipped them. Can you imagine tipping after 14 hours?? ya, me neither. This all could have been resolved if the owner was decent enough to call me back and even discuss...Nope, he tells a guy name Oscar he's not doing anything for us and that we got a good deal? huh? People beware, they are not the reputable company they claim to be.

Mover's response:
Hi Jimmy,

We apologize for the miscommunication and misunderstandings that you have with our company. Moving is really stressful. That's why we totally understand your frustration and hope you understand us too

Actually, we did call you! The owner and Oscar as well, but you didn't respond to them. We have records to prove that we called. Honestly, we're not telling a lie, it's a fact.

We're not a company that takes advantage of women. In fact, you did see our other reviews and you're the first one telling this

Anyway, to explain this situation briefly, let go into the short details why it took 14 hours as you said

First of all, IT TOOK 12 HOURS, NOT 14 HOURS

On the one hand, you're right, it was supposed to be a 4-5 hour job. On the other hand, THERE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE 4 MEN. Despite we did tell you to hire 4 movers and HireAHelper also mentioned in the job order that according to their experience, this sort of job takes up to 4 helpers (you can see it from your job request), you didn't hire 4 movers

You mentioned you paid for waiting hours during the small truck is coming. Actually, they didn't just sit and wait, but they packed the items, moved outside, and prepared for loading

Other than that, you requested a 20ft truck but, we have 26ft, 24ft, and 17ft trucks. We thought you have a 20ft truck worth of stuff and it doesn't fit a 17ft truck. So, we sent a 24ft truck. We didn't know the road is so narrow. Let's be honest! Even if we found a 20ft truck and sent it, it still wouldn't fit your road. That means we would have to hire a smaller truck anyway.

In addition, there were lots of stairs which make the move extremely difficult and dangerous (here is the link for the pictures of the stairs (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13lBbIAqiKXakVtpoTjvuuW2yNlXRNhdf?usp=sharing). One of the moves hurt his ankle during the move on those stairs (he spent a week recovering after that). Eventually, he couldn't lift anything then we had to send another mover to get this job done

Moreover, you moved one year ago for $1,400. It's possible, but not a good example. Firstly, you definitely have more items now compared to the last year. Secondly, the rates are much higher now compared to the last year

Thank you and I hope you will grant us the opportunity to improve your image of us

Please contact us if you wish to further resolve this issue

Sincerely,
JFK Moving Co.

JFK Moving Company worked hard and long in helping me with my move. In some areas, I felt they were careless in wrapping and protecting my furniture and I suffered some damages as a result. Toward the end of the day, which was long, they were obviously tired and were careless in the way they loaded some of my goods on the truck. They did get the work done however, and I appreciate them for that.

Rafael and Francesco did an exceptional job in packing my freight trailer. They packed everything very carefully and made suggestions to further insure the safety of how some items were packed and added additional packing as needed. The day was extremely hot and they worked so hard for 4-5 hours in that heat! Best movers I’ve ever had!

Four guys that came out made me tired just watching them. Had our 3 bedroom home and a lot of boxes loaded in about 3 hours. Then a hour drive unloaded set up all our beds placed all furniture.
Some minor cosmetic damage to our refrigerator but the issue was resolve. If I had to move again I would use JFK Movers and yes I would recommend them. Steve S. Moreno Valley now Beaumont Ca.

Mover's response:
Thank you for your feedback Steven.
We are glad to serve you in your next movings.
