What went well: Vyking Movers were very punctual, arriving precisely on time. They worked hard and were pleasant to deal with.
What went wrong: The movers piled up furniture way on top of boxes, and stacked up lots of heavy items on top of dining room chairs - in other words, they did not protect certain pieces of furniture properly. (We supplied plenty of moving blankets). We pointed out that we had plenty of room in the truck (almost a third of the truck was empty, so all the high stacking was not necessary.) Although I voiced doubts about how certain things were packed, it was not changed. Here was the result: When we unpacked the truck, my dining room chairs, which my husband and I recovered ourselves, were damaged. The foam padding on the chairs had been crushed and flattened out, so that they will have to be recovered. Our tall white cabinet with doors was completely cracked from front to back. Another small kitchen cart wooden top was gouged because it was not protected with a blanket and piled on top of other items. There was other damage, too, but these were the major problems. These damages could have been avoided with more careful packing. We had previously moved all these household goods from Virginia to NJ ourselves, and had no damages. Movers need to listen to customers and be more careful with property. I would like to have compensation to get our chair seats recovered and to have crack repaired in our tall cabinet (if repair is possible.) What we paid was a LOT of money to have our furniture damaged.

Ty and his team did a great job packing our Uhaul truck! They were super quick and attentive and got everything packed with some room to spare. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for loading/unloading!

Dre, James, Ed and Kyheem were instrumental in helping us pack up the Pack A Rat containers. They were professional and courteous throughout the process. I would highly recommend them.

This was a fantastic experience! We had to pack a 28 foot UPack trailer that was going cross country and were really worried about how things would shift or move during transport. We've moved several times and Vyking did the best pack job I've ever seen. Our stuff arrived and not one item shifted during transport. I'd highly recommend them to anyone in need of loading help. 6 stars to the crew of X, James, and Keehan (my apologies if misspelling the 3rd gentleman). We are extremely happy we booked Vyking and will be a repeat customer. Our job was a 3 bedroom townhome in which we booked a crew of 2 and were pleasantly surprised to receive a 3rd mover at no additional charge. The crew showed up on time, were prepared with tools and rope as promised, worked extremely hard from start to finish, and took care to move our items as though it were their own possessions (get a rental truck and rent sufficient moving pads and they’ll take care of the rest if you drive the truck). These are professional movers who pride themselves in service - you don’t have to ask them to assemble and disassemble furniture or tie down the items in the truck they instinctively know to do it. Communication was beyond my expectations too - within 2 hours of making a reservation I received a call to discuss the job and felt immediate assurance when Vyking took my detailed inventory to move and said “I can picture the moving truck with all your items arranged in it.” They also called the day before, and the hour before the move to confirm all the details. Throughout the job they asked questions only when judgement calls were needed but as someone who likes to talk I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these guys. On behalf of my family thank you X, James, and Keehan for providing 6 star service at a 3 star cost to me. I hope Vyking’s owner reads this review and appropriately rewards you all extra for it because we’re already talking up the great experience we had with our friends and neighbors.
