The crew was effective and efficient in taking action in removing all the items off my truck and place them in the respective locations in the house. The crew followed the leader who communicated well to His team and in retrospect very little time was wasted. I would highly recommend Hire A Helper for any moving needs!!

We had 2 different crews on2 different days for 2 different trucks. They were a couple hours late but did call to advise us of that. They were good workers & got everything unloaded despite the OK heat. The second crew was a little late with 1 guy showing up first & the others later. Both crews were respectful & courteous but they are not professional movers. Two of the workers on the 2nd crew were moving a heavy China cabinet into place & one of the guys sat it down on an edge & I heard it crack & sure enough the edge was split apart. You do not set a heavy piece like that down with all the weight on 1 edge. This is a dining set I inherited from my mother & paid $3,000 just to ship it alone from PA to CA & it arrived without a blemish. I also had some other furniture damage including the buffet & dining table but cannot say for certain that the crew was responsible for the other damage or whether it happened in transit but I know they were responsible for the China cabinet damage because I was standing right there & heard it crack. So they were good workers but if you have some heavy expensive furniture like I do you may be taking a risk. I now need to call Furniture Medics & try to get repairs done.

Demetrius and Darius (brothers) were phenomenal! Communication was great, they where on time, they worked extremely hard, we’re knowledgeable, and had amazing personalities.

My move was set for 2 guys to arrive between 9:30am - 10:30am over Memorial holiday weekend to pack up a large Uhaul truck and a 6 ft x 12 ft trailer. The original 2 guys didn’t show up so after 10:30am, I phoned them only to be told 1 guy had quit. I asked when they could round up a crew. They said they were working on it and would get someone there. By after 12pm, I called back only to be told the crew they assigned was already doing another move so someone would “definitely be there between 3:00pm but no later than 4:00pm”.
The owner said he would call me at 4:00pm to personally check in.
FYI: Tulsa is 1.5 hours from my home in Grove.

By 4:15pm, I thought they weren’t coming only to finally get my first call from a guy who said he was my mover and they were on the way. I said Are you close to Grove? He said no we are about 1.5 hours away. I said then you are just now leaving Tulsa? I was stunned but said ok well please hurry because I have had 2 empty vehicles waiting since 9:00am for movers.

I contacted the company who booked these guys to make sure they were coming and the owner said they told him I was being rude to them.

I said I was just shocked when you promised they would arrive no later than 4:00pm. So now that Mover apparently never showed so they sent 2 guys who finally showed up.

Those guys showed up at 6:00pm and worked until 8:00pm. They were hard workers but one of them seemed like he had no idea how to stack a truck so my childhood best friend, a Texas military mom, with experience in large cross-country, family moves, made a few suggestions that helped things go faster and more smoothly.

They got both vehicles packed in 2 hours but sadly a 20 ft truck and a 6 ft x 12 Ft trailer wasn’t enough so now I am going to have to repeat this same process a week later with different movers.

Being late and losing staff is understandable, given the holiday weekend and the distance involved to our small Ok town, so I was sympathetic. But a phone call update when you are not standing by your word to arrive by 4:00pm latest and then calling me rude when I was just stuck all day with no phone contact updates from anyone as to the status of my move was pretty awful.

The movers who finally came worked hard but again communication with customers and offering a discount for my next week’s move would have been a kinder way to bring forth much repeat mover business.

I have moved many times over 25 years and in Houston, TX (where I lived for most of that time), I used only one moving company who had been in business since the late 1970’s. Their survival and success always boiled down to 3 things: 1) knowledgeable, loyal guys who knew how to scan a home or apt and could solve the complex puzzle of stacking and making it fit, 2) guys who showed up on time ready to work and 3) a friendly, helpful attitude and always willing to stay in close contact with customer who wants nothing more than ETA’s on their arrival and a speedy, time-managed pack up.

My 6:00pm - 8:00pm work crew did an excellent job (once the company who hired them gave them the direction on where to be). Perhaps the company should try to find a way to keep better comms with their customers at every step of the way. That might help us manage expectations.
