Old Dominion Freight Line® Reviews
The Old Dominion trailer was incredibly clean, modern, and secure. Ramps, rachett straps, and dividers that secured my belongings were included. The only thing that bothered me was that they wanted to pick up my trailer with my belongings eight days before my move in date. It ended up in the Tampa area really early and was in storage for a few days. They didn't charge me for storage so everything was okay with me financially. I would definitely use Old Dominion again.
OD made moving easy. I hired crews to load and unload, and everything went smoothly. Renting a truck and driving it myself would have cost as much as this did after adding the costs of fuel, hotels, etc. I used to drive a truck and I would not have wanted to drive one over this route if I could help it. We booked it through 800-PACKRAT; they were great, too. If I am ever compelled to move again I will book OD through PACKRAT.
U-Pack was efficient, and got our property to Nashville before we got here ourselves. They were very understanding with us arriving 3 days later than expected because of RV problems, and then having a problem finding a storage unit that would accommodate the trailer overnight. They were quick to pick up the trailer afer we had finished loading and unloading it.
Pack Rat was the original company who helped me and they were great, but Old dominion was the third party that actually moved me. They delivered my trailer several hours late after originally telling me it was shown delivered a week prior and then could not locate my belongings or my trailer. Ugh. It made for a very stressful day as I had to hire a second crew of movers since the first crew timed out just waiting.
I used MoveAmerica, who contracted Old Dominion to do the transport. Move America was great, although a little disorganized in their office- sometimes messages didn't get from one person to the other, and I got a little worried there for a bit. In the end, though, they got the job done, made it happen at just the right times, and kept me informed all along the way. The Old Dominion drivers were prompt, helpful, and made quick transport from Michigan to Florida. I'd recommend the service for a move.
The drivers who dropped off and picked up my container were friendly and helpful. It definitely beats having to rent a huge trailer and haul my stuff across country by myself. The truck was clean and they had a ramp (that was rather heavy BTW) and a dolly for us to use. It also had lots of straps and metal bars inside the truck that could be used to hold your belongings in place.
GREAT JOB Spring Movers and HireAHelper you get 5 Stars and I will use their services again. As for UPAC and Old Dominion, they can kick rocks, never doing business with them again. NEVER AGAIN!!! I went through UPAC for my Detroit to Atlanta move because they had better prices. $1,240 for 7ft of space on truck. This price did not include movers, this was all do-it-yourself. Other companies were charging $2,300 & $2,700, but that was door-to-door with movers. Well the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". They didn't bring the seal with them, they didn't take time to go over instructions, they were late picking up the truck in Detroit and late delivering it in Atlanta. When my things arrived, the pantry cabinet, most plastic bins, some boxes, and a TV stand were all damaged and scratched. I was scheduled for a delivery at 1PM and they gave me the run around up until 6:30pm, when the truck finally arrived. I will never use UPAC or Old Dominion for a move again. You've been warned!!
Drop off and delivery of truck as well as pickup was efficient. Pickup driver very helpful in securing our section with the plywood and braces Driver was patient when he had to wait as we cut off a branch on neighbors tree so he could get his truck to my drive. Tomorrow truck will be unloaded and picked up on Friday.
