Hard working, careful of wrapping/packing everything carefully and great attitude going down many flights of steps. I would definitely recommend them. Our move was on Labor Day weekend and we were concerned about the availability of moving services. The three young men that arrived from Smart Move were friendly, professional, and hardworking.
They even stayed ~15 minutes after the allotted time frame to make sure everything was loaded into the truck! So glad that we chose Smart Move.

While the two helpers did show on time, they did not bring dollies or straps. The one guy was okay, kinda like moving with your little brother who doesn't really want to be there but hey, he is helping you know? The other guy, Lord where do I begin? First off, I am a proud veteran of 9 years and as every other true veteran knows, there are certain things that show whether someone truly served or if they are stealing valor... Now of course I have no proof and I would help someone wouldn't, but people do... Anyway, my husband had to listen to this guy go on and on about how he served for 15 years and he saw so much stuff and did so much stuff and he is really messed up, he isn't right *WHICH THIS IS AN ISSUE IN ITSELF! This guy is helping to unload my household truck! - Yet, when my husband asked some pretty basic questions, the guy could not furnish any answers. Someone he has a ton of experience moving furniture in the Navy, that's what he did, yet a little while later he seeing my Air Force blues uniform and comments how he used to work on Aircraft - which was my job! - so my husband again asks basic questions and the guy starts to get offended. So yeah, make your own judgement but I was extremely offended. That's #1 and I guess #2. #3 - This same guy keeps saying he doesn't know why he is so tired, he is sorry, he doesn't know why his body is so weak, he isn't usually like this, as he is also coughing all over my belongings and inside my home without a mask on = COVID?! #4 - When I placed the call to HireAHelper, the representative asked me, "What is your heaviest item?" I answered definitely my washer. I was then asked if I had a dryer as well. I stated yes I do but it is no where as heavy as my washer. Then I was asked "Okay and what about your heavy furniture?" I answered that I had a king mattress, adjustable base for is, a sectional that's in two pieces, and other furniture, boxes, and totes but nothing is anywhere near as heavy as the washer. The representative then asked, nothing is over 300lbs correct? I said oh yeah no nothing is 300lbs or over. This information was relayed to the company Smart Move. The guys showed up and started to help unload, my husband was also helping while I was in a room with our two dogs and 6 month old son. The second guy gets on the phone with his boss and starts complaining in front of my husband about how we lied, we have dressers, and a bunch of other furniture, that we hid a giant wall of totes behind all the furniture. I answered the questions exactly as asked by HireAHelper, that's not on us! We have never used a moving company nor a referral service so we didn't know to itemize exactly how many items and how heavy, that is the company's job to ask of us! Yet, this guys took it upon himself to dilly dally, refusing to bring up any totes because they were too heavy, refused to take up an exercise bike because it was too awkward, and even tried to make my husband feel like **** for carrying up a big bag of pillows because "Ha, you would grab something light"... like excuse me?! We are paying you to help us move, we are tipping you as well, and you have the gawl to talk ****?! Oh then this guys asks for some water! ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS ARE PACKED UP! YOU ARE HELPING US UNLOAD OUR ITEMS! So my husband dug through our belongings to find a cup for potential covid stranger to use... this is your job, bring water! So my husband couldn't take it anymore, we paid for 2 hours, they were sent home after 1.5. Then I had to strap my 6 month old to me and help my husband carry all those heavy totes and the exercise bike that those movers, that again we paid and tipped, refuse to move. So then next day, I receive a call from HireAHelper to review how our service went. Well I lay it all out, exactly how I just did here. I get a cold transfer to some random guy, the first representative didn't inform me I was being transferred, I wasn't told who this new guy was, but again I laid it all out. I was put on hold for 30 minutes while he made various phone calls, the call dropped, an hour later I get a call back stating they would refund only $100 as the workers said my husband was the one helping, that I didn't lift anything, I am exaggerating everything and they did work the 2 hours. Obviously offended, you don't know what I did after we sent them home! DO NOT tell me I didn't lift anything!! Like seriously?! Sexist much?! Oh and I let them know this guy was also scamming them for milage, the trip took at most 1 hour and 15 minutes, he was claiming 2 hours. So I said $100 is a slap in the face, after this guys did all these things. Well they don't believe me, they believe their worker, most is $150 or they have to file a claim and that can take 28 days. I said not worth my time but I will be proud to spread the word against HireAHelper, its other 3 associated sites from the same management group AND Smart Move. All a waste of money and time!!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!! USE A DIFFERENT SITE!

My job consisted of moving large master bedroom furniture from the main floor to the 2nd floor. The crew showed up on time and sent me a text 30 minutes ahead so I could be ready. They worked hard moving very heavy furniture. When a few pieces wouldn't fit, they tried every angle. The team had a great attitude and were hard working. I'd use them again and highly recommend them.

Very slow and had a hard time problem solving. Couldn’t figure out how to get my couch through a standard doorway. Never used a Dolly. Hand carried each box (1 Bo’s each) instead of piling them on a dolly and moving boxes that way. Went 2 hours over my time. Horribly horribly slow. I do not recommend them at all.

They were on time/ a bit early! LOL They were polite. They took care not to damage the items. They worked together and communicated wll. They worked HARD! They inquired as to where things were too go. They stayed in the timeframe.
