The two movers were on time, were prepared for the job, and worked hard. They were also courteous to my family and were open to suggestions on which items to prioritize during the moving process. In addition, they dealt with traveling up and down a flight of stairs as well as a torrential downpour that lasted roughly 30-45 minutes. The reasons they were given 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 stars are the following: (1) They wasted about 15 minutes trying to use straps to move a mattress and box spring together through a narrow doorway rather than moving them separately, followed by another 15-20 minutes trying to move the larger part of our sectional through the main door even though we told them that the second floor balcony was the path that the furniture company had used to bring it in; (2) One of the movers would sometimes smoke; I don't mind smoking while moving furniture out in the open but I did not appreciate the smoking while inside the U-Haul next to all the furniture since the upholstery would end up smelling like cigarettes in the process; (3) A couple pieces of larger furniture were stacked vertically to accommodate the space, but there were no towels or blankets underneath the armrest that touched the floor of the U-Haul; this was fine for us but other customers might be very particular about how delicate their furniture is.
