This was the 2nd time I used Eric Meekins and his team for a move, and if I needed to I'd use them for a 3rd. They came on time, and they were extremely pleasant and efficient and hard-working on a brutally hot day.
I have little else to say because quite simply everything was exactly as it should have been. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately, they brought a smaller truck than what I had requested so it took longer to do the job as they had to make two trips. The cost of the extra time was passed to me.
But they were on time and prepared for the job in terms of blankets and trunks. They did work hard and were respectful of my property for the most part. There was some damage to items and scuffs on walls but nothing major.
Not sure if I would use them again. It would depend on the type of job.

Unprofessional and caused careless damage to several pieces of furniture.
Glass table top - broken on one corner
Sofa - was not wrapped and is dirty and greasy from the truck
Office desk - deep drag marks on one side
Acrylic chairs - scratched
Side table - crushed beyond repair
Bedside tables - both had damage on corners
Lamp shades - 1 of 5 made it without damage
I would not recommend their services.

Nobody showed up at the loading site. Still I was charged the full amount quoted when I made the reservation..
The fair thing to do would have been to charge 4 man hours (not 8) since it took two hours for the two helpers to unload the van and carry the items to house.
I have to note that the helpers at the destination were professional who did a good job.

The guys were on time, which was my priority. They worked quickly and efficiently but were a little rough with the furniture... Charged on the dot...
Overall service was good, though a little expensive. I would hire them again!

They were late, however they said there was a problem with their truck and broke down right in our area. They needed to rent a new truck to complete the job. They did call and kept us updated during this time.
When they arrived they showed up with all the supplies and worked quickly. They did take care of the furniture they moved and and were respectful of the walls in the apartment.
They were a great help and made moving so much easier. I would hire them again.

I was in a panic the night before I had to be out of my house. My daughter and myself did a search on moving companies around 10pm at night and found ASAP Moving and Junk Hauling. Not even 10 minutes after I put in the request for contract Eric Meekins contacted me and we discussed the job. We made the arrangements for the next day 4/1/12 and they were great. Eric and his crew of 2 other gentlemen (forgive me I don't remember there names) arrived at my home loaded up the truck and moved my things to storage for me. The men were professional, friendly and very understanding with this lady under pressure. Thanks again Eric and crew for an excellent job. I would definately use this company again

These guys arrived on time and worked hard to get our stuff moved from storage to our home. We did not estimate enough time to complete the job but they were flexible enough to stay and complete the job.

We hired 3 movers and 1 of them didn't know what they were doing.
They did show up on time which we were happy about.
They put a hole and scratched up our wall ,struggling to figure out how to move the armoire, and we had to put in an insurance claim for the 10 inch scratch the mover put on the wood of our new couch.
Eric (the owner) did say he would reimburse us to get this issue fixed, and we are very happy about that as we understand when moving, things have a tendency to get damaged, that is why we chose this company that is both licensed and insured.
Eric quoted us $30 less then what we were actually charged to add a third mover on , so had to dispute that which was inconvenient.
Upon reading this review, Eric texted me to let me know that I was unappreciative ,which was both inappropriate & also is a direct violation of hireahelpers terms of service.
I would not recommend this company.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Relief & professionalism. They also can expect to get more items in their POD or Pack-rat / Rental Truck than they expected. They should expect to save a bunch of money on PODS and the Amount of PODS they need to move.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
A Early arrival & communication. A day %100 dedicated to getting their job done in a efficient time with no damages or mistakes.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Make sure you have blankets! If you are renting a POD or Pack-Rat Be sure to tell them to throw 1-2 dozen blankets in the container before its delivered. Most of the time they don't even charge you. Also gather any washable blankets , sheets or towels we can use for protection... This way you don't have to break the bank on blankets. We also have started to use Boxes from Home depot. Lowes or Walmart. We can cut the boxes open and use them for TV crating, protection of Glass & Surfaces for stacking.
What types of moves have you handled?
NYC jewelry store to LA, NYC home building associations , residential moves, Las Vegas Convention Center (Santee Cosmetics), Oz mannequins + Commercial Appliance Moves. I also moved Rosie O'donnel & Michelle Rounds & many other celebs.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
New scenery & meeting cool. interesting nice people.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We watch you tube moving self help videos to stay fresh & consider new techniques to add to our skill sets. We also stretch daily & incorporate cardio into our lives to stay conditioned.
