We had two movers: Kellen, who was awesome! And Arthur who was hung over from a night of drinking or something… he was struggling. Arthur bumped many marks on our walls & made a hole in one room. Additionally, he had to stop and throw up at times throughout the day. If Kellen had not been so great & picked up the slack, I would have spoken up sooner about the issues we had.

I’ve used Hire a Helper several times in the past with great results. This sucked. I hired 2 guys to unload a uhaul trailer - not a truck, a trailer. One guy showed up on time and and did pretty well. The second showed up 25 min late (to a 2 hour job), was dropping my stuff left and right and at one point just disappeared. I asked the first guy where he went and he had no clue. The trailer got unloaded but took the full 2 hours - I loaded it from a storage locked into the trailer by myself in about 30 min. Now they did have a lot further to move the stuff, but 2 guys in their 20’s took 4 man-hours to move what a 55 year old guy moved in 30 min.
But that’s not the reason for 1 star. I talked to the owner about all this. He knew the guy was 25 min late - I called him when guy didn’t show. He should have made it right with billing and didn’t. He told me he’d “look into it”.
I would have gotten far better service going to HomeDepot and grabbing a few guys from the parking lot.

I am compelled to address what I believe to be an unfair and misleading review. As a company that takes immense pride in delivering excellent services and consistently exceeding customer expectations, it is disheartening to see our reputation tarnished by a misunderstanding. Allow me to shed some light on the situation and provide a more accurate account of the events.
The agreed-upon arrival window for the job in question was clearly communicated as 2:00pm - 3:00pm. To our credit, the first mover arrived promptly at 1:50pm, displaying our commitment to punctuality and professionalism. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the second mover arrived slightly later, at 2:20pm.
Despite this minor delay, we wasted no time in swiftly commencing the task at hand. Our highly skilled team efficiently completed the job in an impressive 1 hour and 30 minutes, well within the initially estimated timeframe. We take immense pride in our ability to provide expedient and high-quality service, and this instance was no exception.
It is disheartening to witness a customer seeking a refund based solely on the delay of one technician, despite the overall completion time being well within the agreed-upon window. We understand that time is valuable, and we strive to ensure minimal disruptions to our customers' schedules. However, it is essential to consider the entirety of the service experience, which, in this case, was characterized by efficiency, expertise, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
We genuinely empathize with any inconvenience caused by the technician's slight delay, and we are always open to feedback to further improve our services. However, we firmly believe that requesting a refund based on the circumstances described is an unreasonable expectation.
